The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant

The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant is located in one of Edinburgh's most iconic buildings The Scottish National Gallery and serves locally sourced, sustainably produced, contemporary Scottish food. The multi award-winning restaurant is well known for a commitment to using local, artisan Scottish producers and sourcing a majority of its produce from the Contini Kitchen Garden located in nearby East Lothian. 

The floor to ceiling windows along the east wall share beautiful views over the gardens, whereas the signature Mairi Helena velvet wall at the back of the restaurant creates an inviting and soothing surround for you to enjoy a special dining space in every part of the restaurant.

Serving breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon teas, every dish is carefully considered to include as many ingredients as possible that we can grow ourselves in our Kitchen Garden or source from our specially selected artisan Scottish suppliers. Fish and chips, Cullen Skink, butteries and afternoon tea are just some of the classics that will always be on the menu along with monthly changing dishes that reflect the seasons.

The Scottish Cafe & Restaurant also offers a beautiful exclusive use events space for private functions and parties.
