The Conan Doyle


For a truly traditional pub experience, visit The Conan Doyle in Edinburgh. The pub is named after the author of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who was born close by in Picardy Place in 1859.  

Just a short walk from Picardy Place, Cathedral Lane and Queens Street, this pub is conveniently located close to a many of the city’s iconic attractions, including the Edinburgh Playhouse, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and the New Town.  

Inside, you’ll find a spacious bar and restaurant area as well as a mezzanine area that can be hired for parties and events, holding up to 40 guests.  

On the menu, there’s a wide range of traditional Scottish pub food available all day, as well as a drinks menu focusing on cask ales and scotch whiskies.
