Description
The Irish Film Institute is Ireland’s national cultural institute for film. We provide audiences throughout Ireland with access to the finest independent, Irish and international cinema, preserve and promote Ireland’s moving image heritage, and provide opportunities for audiences of all ages and backgrounds to learn and critically engage with film.
The IFI has had many homes over the years and has seen a radical transformation in its ethos since its foundation; however, a commitment to and love of cinema have always been central to its mission. In 2009, the IFI underwent an extensive redevelopment, supported by the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism ACCESS II Scheme, which expanded its facilities to include a third cinema and new archive research facilities, allowing it to have ever more ambitious aims for itself and its audiences, while remaining dedicated to achieving its core objectives: Preserve, Exhibit and Educate.
Cafe bar:
An oasis in Dublin city centre, the IFI Café Bar is a haven for film-loving foodies. With a value offering of lunch, dinner, early bird and weekend brunch menus, this is truly a place where people can relax, enjoy great food and drinks.
