Description

The Blind Pig is a hidden watering hole, secretly tucked away in Dublin's city centre. This swanky speakeasy is known for the quality and artistry of its cocktails - each of which truly evokes the mood of the 1920s Prohibition era.

When visiting this bootlegger's haven, expect to find candlelit tables, rich deep mahogany furniture and Prohibition paraphernalia. Everything about this venue is super secret - even the menus are hidden in the pages of old books set on the tables. Of course, the roaring twenties theme runs strong here, all of the bartenders are dressed charmingly, donning shirts, ties and sleeve garters.

Naturally, you're probably raring to know about cocktails... rest assured, they're even better than you'd hope. The Blind Pig's impeccable quality of beverages is thanks to the internationally award-winning mixologist Paul Lambert. With his expertly-crafted cocktail menu, everything here promises to tantalise the taste buds of cocktail lovers.

The restaurant was too noisy, I went with my boyfriend and we could barely hear eachother even though we were sitting close opposite eachother. I started getting a headache at one point so we left as soon as we had eaten. Service was ok and not the best and food was expensive as I could go somewhere cheaper for same quality visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 12 Jan 2018

Great evening in the Blind Pig. Comfortable setting and the acoustic band made for a real treat. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and I loved that the Master Barman would make you his own creative cocktails off menu. Had a great evening here, the cocktails were really good and it was great talking to the owner who suggested cocktails off menu, and gave us a background to the place. I had a pizza which was grand, but my girlfriends pasta was way too sweet. Really recommend it for a night that's a little bit different visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 10 Jan 2018

Firstly we didnt get given any information stating where to go i.e the secret directions. I had to ring my sister who had already been to find where to go. When we got there we were seated quickly which was nice. The server who we originally had seemed.to forget us but another waiter realised and served us. He was very helpfull. My partner ordered garlic bread as a starter. However when it arrived there was so much garlic on it was virtually inedible. Pur mains however were nice. As a reccomendation from my sister we were greatly looking forward to pur visit however, due to factors during the meal we were unimpressed. visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 03 Jan 2018

Great concept! The reveal through the door was brilliant. Unfortunately the same couldn’t be said for our experience inside. I ordered asparagus as a starter but was served the mozzarella, which was so cold it had just left the fridge and not allowed to acclimatise. As we had already waited 20 minutes I didn’t send it back. My partner ordered the dirty burger as a main. Unfortunately it was cold, so much so that the cheese hadn’t melted. Not a great burger when you have unmelted wedges of cheese. We were in a corner and therefore forgotten about. My view was of a curtain doorway, which wouldn’t be a problem, as it is a basement venue. However, the curtain was pulled open and a bike stored there on view. To summarise, a great venue, great concept, poor service and food quality needs some improvement. More servicing staff needed, or front of House needs to be more hands on!! visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 30 Dec 2017

Our group were greeted by a very friendly and helpful waitress who brought us to our table and explained the various aspects of the speak easy theme. However for the majority of the evening an older male waiter served us. This member of staff came across as extremely rude and when asked if there was a 'prawn starter" on the menu he instructed us to read the menu and if we didn't find one then no. However, he was not the only disappointing member of staff, as when asking a passing bartender for a drink we were met with more rudeness and low levels of customer service. This carried on when we moved to the bar to finish our drink. The same bartender was just purely rude and really did not represent the business well. The food however was lovely and everyone was pleased with their dish of choice. I do not usually leave reviews when I go to restaurants but I felt it was needed in these circumstances. If the service had have been better I would have had no problem rating this as 5 stars due to the food and theme, however the staff are a serious let down. visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 22 Dec 2017

Quirky venue and cool ide in general. Sadly we Found the service very poor- once seated we were not given a drinks menu and were not even acknowledged for about 20mins. Food was fine. When making my booking I had stated it was my husband's birthday and asked could something be done for him. I was told this would be looked after and a note had been put with our booking and yet nothing was done to make his birthday dinner that extra bit special which was disappointing. Glad we did it but wouldn't be pushed to go back again. visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 16 Dec 2017

I know it was Christmas and therefore extremely busy, but the service last night was dreadful. The food was actually really tasty (we both had the burger) but we asked for ketchup etc. and had to wait until we were nearly finished eating to get it. We arrived for our booking at 8.45 and weren't seated until 9.10 and food took well over 30 minutes to arrive. I was really looking forward to coming back to the Bling Pig and have a nice date with my partner, listening to our favorite singer, in a nice and classy place, and having a nice meal. However, the experience was quite disappointing. The food came too early, we did not even have time to enjoy our cocktails. Food was ok, but not for the standard of the price (pasta were also over cooked). Large group of men drinking beers standing in front of the bar and being very loud prevented us from listening to the music (what we came for) and enjoying our time. This also completely broke the classy spirit of the place, making it just a random bar. I used to love this place, its atmosphere, its "special" experience, but I don't think I'll come back again. visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 14 Dec 2017

Loved the music; especially the singer and the pianist (a female, I haven't seen here there before, apparently she was new) were vibrant... the music played was versatile and they kept playing for at least 2 hours, so we didn't want to leave... the music created the right atmosphere... hopefully it will be more often! I could hear the piano even from the back... and the voice too. I wish there were food too but there were only drinks and the kitchen was already closed. We were greeted by one of the bartenders rather than the usual front of house staff. He gruffly told sit wherever, you’re just here for drinks. It’s a small thing but after the expectation set by your website it was a bit of a let down to have some grump just grunt and jerk his head non committedly at the bar then storm off. The food was lovely and there was a lovely atmosphere in the place but I was disappointed with the service. We waited over 20 minutes before i had to ask someone to come take our drinks and dinner order. The waitress apologised for the delay and said that only one waiter takes all of the orders. There seemed to be loads of people working but very little service to tables. We got our starters an mains which were delicious but I kept having to ask to have the water refilled. We finished our wine and we were going to get a cocktail and wanted to have a look at the dessert menu but we couldn't get a hold of a waiter so in the end i gave up and when i got a hold of someone i asked then for the bill. With the beautiful food the place has such good potential but the service requires significant improvement. visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 03 Nov 2017

No offence to staff the waitress was lovely but for the money we paid our experience wasn't great... The menus where awkward I understand you want to make it like a speakeasy during prohibition but when you sit down for a drink on a night out the last thing you want to do is go through a book to see all cocktails then an extra menu with monthly cocktails seemed messy and awkward and an overload of choices, I'd recommend reviewing this maybe with some help from your regulars I'm sure their opinion is different to mine just it wasn't as good as I expected and felt disappointed on the night of my sisters birthday. I had built it up and the experience wasn't what was expected and manager seemed rude and distant to customers but hats off to the chef food was great, if you are going to advertise as a speakeasy I'd suggest making it more fun when that bookcase pulls back. Because only then would I return and recommend to all Have a good day visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 28 Oct 2017

Great atmosphere, excellent food with friendly manager and staff, also the live music was great. Only one small thing the loud speaker near our table and it was quite loud and sometimes it was hard to hear conversation. visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 28 Oct 2017

It was a shame the doors were open as we came down the stairs as takes away some of the mystery but our Swiss host was really lovely & very helpful. Music was great & fab selection of drinks etc. Would recommend but there's definitely an improvement to be made of the sliding door system just for authenticity!! Good job tho 👍🏼 visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 21 Oct 2017

We enjoyed the food and the cocktails were good too. We felt a little exposed sitting on the raised seating, however it did loo pretty. We would have preferred someone dark and secluded like we imagined the bar was going to look like. The waitress was very good though, she gave good reccomendations and made sure we were happy throughout our stay. Thank you Freddie visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 20 Oct 2017

We were looking forward to our meal that we had booked a week in advance. The doors were open on arrival so the initial surprise wasn't as exciting as it could have been but the restaurant is gorgeous. We were sat right in front of the door which opened everytime the waitress passed our table but they were happy to move us when asked. Overall it was a nice evening. Worth the experience but definitely on the pricey side for what you get. visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 20 Oct 2017

Food was really lovely (charcuterie board starter was huge and delish) , service was brill (i think waitress was called Natalie or may have been Atalie), she was so friendly & exactly the right volume of attentive. Albariño was nice but €40 was a tad heavy (price wise). Brooklyn cocktails are dangerously good. Lighting was lovely too. Spent €148 for a shared starter & dessert, 2 mains, 4 cocktails & wine. Would defo go again, but would have loved a slightly more affordable wine option. Secret door is a hoot. visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 20 Oct 2017

First impressions were great lovely atmosphere background music through the tapes gave the speakeasy feeling as promised a good feeling staff were pleasant and helpful food was good a good range of cocktails all positive on the downside the live music was very subdued which didnt continue the speakeasy theme although this could be said to be a matter of personnel taste of which on this occasion didnt match our party's expectations also a special arrangement and drinks package for our friends was not mentioned to us and as the night drew to a close we didnt feel the want to ask about it (our fault admittedly but just curious) all in all would reccomend a visit and would return again visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 14 Oct 2017

Hi Paul, I've already written a review for Trip Advisor. Just to echo that, my partner and I had a stunning night. Every single thing from decor, service, atmosphere, food and value made our night special. The Duck confit was just delishous! Always good to have some developmental feedback too and the only suggestions I would make would be to have slightly more potatoes to go with the duck. We will be back!! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We went on a Thursday night so was fairly quiet. It was just us and another couple in the place. However, there was still a nice chilled calm atmosphere. Very cosy with stone walls and candles lighting. The experience of not knowing exactly where you are going is thrilling and definitely adds to it. The only negative about the night is the cocktails were pretty pricey. Myself and my boyfriend got a cocktail each and was €15 Euro per cocktail. Thought €30 for 2 drinks was a bit pricey. They weren't particularly big cocktails either. However, definitely would recommend to go if even just for 1 or two drinks as it was a great experience and was very enjoyable apart from the price of the cocktails. visited The Blind Pig Dublin on 05 Oct 2017
