Your expert guide will talk you through:

  • How to taste a range of different beer styles
  • The 4 main ingredients of beer
  • How beer is brewed and how this differs per style
  • History of brewing in the UK and locally
  • The story behind the venues visited and drinks tasted

Our Tasting Tours last around 2.5 - 3 hours in total and can start anytime the venues are open. They generally work well as an afternoon/early evening activity when it's a little less busy and you can hear your guide talk you through the beers.

You'll sample a range of styles from lighter beers such as pale ales, going up on the palette to IPA's and Stouts/Porters. Tasting measures are usually a 1/3 or 1/2 and these differ in amount depending on the venue however guests usually always have a drink in their hand (unless they drink super fast), and we find it's just the right of beer tastings for the time spent on the tour.

A selection of Cardiff's best craft beer venues below:

  • Brewhouse & Kitchen Cardiff
  • Craft Devil's Cellar
  • PIPES artisan brewery
  • St Canns's Alehouse

Just select the date and time you wish to attend on the tickets or contact us if you have any questions.

Discover the best of Cardiff's beer scene with visits to local pubs and taprooms with an expert local guide to talk you through the beers styles and history behind them all.

The deposit payment is equivalent to one person attending. This is refundable up to 28 days before the event or totally if Government restrictions mean cancellation.

During the checkout process you can let us know how many people you are expecting to join the group - however we don't need payment for these until 7 days before the event.

Our events require a minimum of 10 guests or equivalent payment for 10 - so if you have less then you'll just need to split the cost or join us on a publicly available tour with other guests where these are listed. Please note we can't combine private tour groups.

Best Craft Beer Bars in Cardiff

Cathays Beer House

This little little comfortable tavern, which is located on the site of a former post office, serves beer from local brewers as well as rare craft ales from other areas of the nation, all for a very reasonable price. The atmosphere is incomparable; it will make you feel as if you are a member of the family and are in the countryside.

Porter’s Cardiff

Porter's Cardiff is much more than just a pub. This bustling venue hosts cabaret evenings with music and humour, as well as numerous multi-genre events, a film, educational seminars, and a pub quiz. Don't miss out on the fantastic atmosphere!

The Eli Jenkins

A refurbished structure in the centre of Cardiff Bay houses a traditional British bar. The heated courtyard, guest ales, and classic British pub fare are all available at this bustling pub.

'Bub's'

This entirely independent bar in the centre of the city, formerly known as Beelzebubs, is free of links to any huge pub conglomerates or major boring brewers! Great and polite personnel, plenty of space, and excellent cask ales. Bubs Bar is the place to go for the greatest beers and laid-back hoppy atmosphere.

The Claude

This bar is a vibrant spot to watch and enjoy important sports, thanks to its enormous Sky Sports following. A pub quiz, open mics, and other activities are also available.

St Canna’s Ale House

The first micropub in Cardiff! Canna's mission is to sell great, local beer while also strengthening the neighbourhood. Quiz evenings, movie evenings, and open mic evenings are all held in the bar on a regular basis. Don't miss out on ‘Street Food' nights on Thursdays!

It's also a terrific spot to play board games that the bartenders can lend you. This establishment is well-known in Cardiff for being dog-friendly, with frequent dog guests. The pub provides a soothing atmosphere, ideal for indulging and discovering the lovely, inviting world of craft beer.
