A new kid on the block, KIBOU Japanese restaurant and bar opened in Cambridge in the summer of 2023 and is already going down a storm. Located in the Grade II-listed building at 7a Jesus Lane, home to the Pitt Club, and formerly Pizza Express, the venue has had a complete make-over, and is oozing Japanese chic.

You’ll find KIBOU’s trademark murals and digital animations adorning the walls, alongside stunning Japanese floral and foliage installations, and some uber-decadent furnishings.

The Mirror Room sees a central Japanese cherry blossom tree surrounded by beautiful and colourful reflective murals, while the Oak Room includes a large, focal wisteria tree to the centre, against a backdrop of plush fabrics and artwork. 

There’s also a relaxed cocktail lounge and dining area, featuring an open sushi and hot kitchen, and a standalone spirits bar serving cocktails, Japanese whiskies and beer.

They're serving all your favourite dishes from Japan, including steaming bowls of ramen, a selection of steamed bao buns, crisp tempura and handmade spiced pork gyoza. On top of that? Work of art sushi and sashimi sharing platters, seasonal specials and A5 Grade Japanese wagyu.
