Taking over the space which was once home to CAU, Backyard Chicken is the newest venture from chef Jules Hunt and ex-CEO of Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group, Simon Blagden. Not only is there a huge range of chicken on offer (from wings to burgers and fried to grilled) but diners will be able to order at the table rather than from a waiter.

Industrial beams and wooden decor give the restaurant a laid back vibe, with the menu reflecting this. Tap at your table for drinks; whether it's a soul juice or something a little stronger; with the mixed berry spritz and mango cooler providing a fruity refreshment. When it comes to food, you'll find appetisers like avocado fries and chicken noodle soup alongside mains from vegan fried chicken to a buttermilk cheese royal.
