Description

Sat just a short 15 minutes drive outside of Bristol town centre, the White Hart is a homely pub that opens its doors to everyone. Based in the picturesque village of Littleton-on-Severn.

Dating back to the 17th century, this pub is based in the bones of a barnhouse and today still boasts the same rustic, rural feel that it did all those years ago. Holding onto many of its original features, guests can curl up next to a log fire, sink deep into a cosy armchair or take a stroll through the venue's cider orchard.

Alongside a selection of bottle beers and craft creations, the bar also serves a range of real ales, brewed only a stone's throw away and all truly nurturing the tastes and experiences of Gloucestershire. Couple this with a hearty menu of classic British gastro pub treats, and you've got yourself the ideal location for a lazy weekend with the family.

A Tuesday evening, very relaxed and quiet. Great table by the log burner and wonderful service. Only down side, a bit of fat on the venison which is not to my taste but then that's me. Otherwise the food was top notch and the wine even better. Felt totally at ease and had a very pleasant time. Well worth the cost. We had 3 starters, 3 mains and 2 puddings With 1 large wine, 1 small wine, 3 pints and a coke which came to about £97. One of our favourite places, we will be back! visited The White Hart Bristol on 21 Feb 2017

It was okay, but we won't go back. A bit disappointed as the White Hart was recommended by two people on our local Facebook community page. It was beautiful pub and the serving staff were friendly and polite. Our food came very quickly but the beef was very fatty and difficult to cut, my husband complained and they did bring him a whole new dinner, which was nice, but then we realised that we didn't have any red cabbage with our meals which it said it came with. Considering the pub had just opened, the toilets were not clean and I didn't want my 3 year old to touch anything. Also £9 for a large glass of wine on the outskirts of Bristol is, in my opinion outrageous. visited The White Hart Bristol on 22 Jan 2017

I booked a table for 14 people for my husband's birthday a few weeks before the event and was pleased to receive a reassuring email the day before confirming my booking. The staff were very accommodating and were happy for us to pull tables together and decorate them. They also allowed me to bring my own cake and were happy to decorate it for me. Great visit. Thank you for your hospitality. visited The White Hart Bristol on 31 Dec 2016

Our family Christmas meal at the White Hart in Littleton-On-Severn for eleven was excellent. Tables were moved around to accommodate our number and the food was served quickly and to everyone's liking. Friendly staff and landlady, always a pleasure to visit this pub, particularly in the summer with views to the Severn from the front garden. visited The White Hart Bristol on 29 Dec 2016

The Christmas Day lunch offering was super, the atmosphere very good and the staff warm and welcoming. A number of nice little touches like christmas cards on the table as well. But lunch was very hurried ... never easy with a set menu and large numbers of people to cater for ... but each course came out as soon as plates were cleared from the previous one. Older members of our party didn't feel they had a moment to digest their starters before the main event arrived; consequently lunch was over and done in an hour. We didn't realise what was happening until it was too late. Which also gave little time to settle in, drink and be merry, so not so much use was made of the fine ales and wines on offer either. Much to recommend it, but some tinkering at the edges required to make it perfect. visited The White Hart Bristol on 25 Dec 2016

Lovely pub, new decor much better, & the welcoming staff a lot better than a few years ago. Husband disappointed with the venison hotspot........to much liquid & not enough substance. As I have mentioned before a bit pieved to be charged £23 for " Aberdeen Angus "sirloin steak when web site said £18 for sirloin steak. Apart from that everything was OK. visited The White Hart Bristol on 09 Dec 2016

I recently visited the White Hart with my parents, brother and his wife who came to visit from Ireland. We had heard good things about the place. We booked a table for 5 people but on arrival had to change table as there was not enough room for one of us at an uncomfortable end chair. We were quite disppointed in our meal. Myself and Mam had the burger which we both felt was undercooked and so I couldn't finish it. My brother had fish and chips and the chips were clearly from frozen and unenjoyable. Yes, the atmosphere was pleasant and it is a cosy place but I don't think we will be going back for meal and unfortunately would not recommend. visited The White Hart Bristol on 12 Nov 2016

Disappointing service. Admittedly it was Bonfire Night so we were expecting it to be busy, but after waiting 20 mins at the bar to inform them that we had arrived, we were in the middle of ordering drinks when the girl serving us wandered off to deliver food to a table and didn't come back! We then had to wait another 20mins and go through the whole process again. visited The White Hart Bristol on 05 Nov 2016
