They invite you into a world of peaches and cream where the sun never sets, the drinks are always cold and the good times are legendary.

Their girl Lillie was the Kim K of her day: smart, beautiful and fearlessly herself, she was the archetypal celebrity trendsetter.

While everyone else was dressing in fussy Bridgerton-style fits, she went her own way: keeping it simple in a plain black dress and no jewelry. We’ve all got Lillie to thank for showing us the wonders of an LBD.

Her bold individuality caught the eye of one of the most famous painters of the day, John Everett Millais, and she became his muse, modelling for his paintings.

Of course, she also had fabulous and flamboyant friends like Oscar Wilde, and the pair ran riot at society parties. Always in the newspaper gossip columns, Lillie’s fans couldn’t get enough of her.
