If you spend more time than you’d like tangled up in thoughts of the past or the future, it may be time to discover The Wilderness. This exciting new restaurant on Dudley Street offers an escape to the country, where you can forget the relentless nature of city life and just enjoy being present in the moment.
The Wilderness has gone to great lengths to put together a menu featuring locally sourced ingredients and produce from their own allotment, and you can expect honest, kind and wholesome plates as a result. There’s a small bar area too, where Robert Wood (40 St. Paul’s, The Edgbaston, The Kenilworth) works with the kitchen team to craft a drinks menu that complements the flavours on the menu at that moment.
The folks behind The Wilderness are also huge coffee fans, and they’ve a full-time research barista who works with guest roasters to put together a seasonal selection of coffee that is a cut above your typical restaurant offering. As if all that wasn’t enough, The Wilderness has even linked up exclusively with Staying Cool at the Rotunda to offer luxury accommodation within a stone’s throw of the restaurant, so you can linger into the evening without having to fuss about catching that last train home.
A word from the chef:
With a focus on celebrating rural flavours, The Wilderness prepares British cuisine with ingredients sourced from trusted local suppliers and their own allotment.
