Cabaret Show at Hockley Social Club by Cleverco

Purveyors of incredible cabaret and variety performances, Cleverco, are bringing their unique and sellout night to Hockley Social Club for one night only in June! Expect some of the most exciting and impressive in cabaret, comedy, drag, live music and more inside one of the mose exciting venues in the city!

Cleverco first launched its Cabaret show at Digbeth Dining Club back in 2018. After 4 successful events achieving record numbers across the Lower Trinity Street venues, COVID hit, and the rest, as they say, is history. 

Fast forward a few years, and Cleverco is back with a massive crash, bang, wallop! Serving up some of the finest talents on the UK cabaret scene, they're coming to Hockley Social Club for a night you won't forget!

Hosted by Shady de Femme and TheMrCleaver, who are poised to take you on a journey through the wickedly weird and wildly wonderful...

Shady de Femme is a performance artist, and award-winning cabaret entertainer trained studiously in the art of the tease and classical theatre. Thespian, feminist and fabulous, roasting is her emcee game - the shade is all nature and name. Highly skilled in all manners of captivation, she's filthy good fun and here for the sauce!

TheMrCleaver is a self-taught showbiz fool ready to tickle your wits and bring out the belly laughs with his eccentric comedy bones. From host general and quizmaster extraordinaire to treading the boards, now thoroughly washed out from the lack of fame and fortune - he's back, and this time it's for good… or bad!

Headlining is Mik Artistik's Ego Trip, genuinely delightful, funny, frightening, and indefinable. Lightly summarised as Northern rock n' roll stand-up, they're Glastonbury favourites since their first appearance in 2007. In fact, many fans will only consider the festival officially begun after attending Mik's Wednesday gig at the Croissant Neuf Bandstand or joining the chaos that reigns at Thursday's Rocket Lounge. In early 2020, rock icon Iggy Pop endorsed Mik's anthem of hope 'Sweet Leaf of the North' as his favourite song of the last decade "because it's human, it's real, and it has a soul."

We also have London-based award-winning character comedian Tracey Collins presenting her much-loved Audrey Heartburn as she embarks on a hilarious rampage in search of real love in the real world. Be amazed as she shakes her maracas, sings Tom Jones classics, and seduces you with a packet of crisps! And after decades working the tills at Tesco Express, Tracey's Elvis Lesley leaves the day job behind to head back to the bright lights of the big city! 

Next up, we're treating you to Shananigans, an international solo cabaret artist and a member of the illustrious industry über famous! Fuel Girls troupe. Performing non-stop worldwide, from Nigeria to Wembley Arena, she's here to tantalise us with each daring skill, from balloon tricks and glitter showers to hot wax and stapled flesh - you'll wonder what's coming next! 

Putting the B in Brum, Kenya Knott is genuine city royalty for so much more than her looks and unbelievably shapely pins. "She's got them all in the bag, death drops - got 'em, shablams - got 'em, nails, hair, hips, heels, all of it." It's time to put on your Freakum Dress and Rocket with us All Night - this Queen will have you Drunk in Love. 

Our fantastic food traders will be available from 5pm until 7.15pm, with the Cleverco performance kicking off at 7.30pm. So, arrive early to get your fill of delicious street food but remember to leave some room - it's cabaret capers for dessert!
