27/10/14 - Sam Smith awesome, venue disgusting, dirty, to hot & extremely poorly organised. As a 56 yr old, I expected more, but typically a rip-off, regarding drinks etc! People passing out, no medical staff in sight, someone could have died or will do in the future. It seems to me, herd them in like cattle, and get on with it. No one introduced the artist's or pointed out where the fire exits were situated! Further more, you were not allowed to take any drinks in, so thus if anyone felt ill inside, and needed to drink more, they would be in potential trouble. A pint of Pepsi was nearly £3, and as usual half was ice. I personally like bass in my music, but it was far to strong, and hurt my chest. Sound mixers were total rubbish, and I could have done a far better job myself! Health & safety needs to be reviewed asap. All-in-all, a poor expensive night and will not be going again. I'm sure if Sam Smith knew this, regarding his fans, he would have something to say. This was a birthday treat for me, and I cannot take it away from Sam Smith, as his talent is undeniably brilliant. It was a great shame the venue spoilt the whole experience, especially as it was potentially more personal with an audience of less than 3500. I'm sure there was in excess of the amount permitted. I'm no old fart, but this venue needs to be looked at asap. Anthony (Newhall)
