Sad House Daddy presents a spectacularly special Christmas show, with the sensational Candice Gordon and A.S. Fanning over from Berlin for a rare London show and the mighty Goldray to finish the night off. Also now added to the bill, the wonderful Dublin singer/songwriter Louis Brennan will be opening.

Goldray
http://www.goldrayband.com/

Comprising Leah Rasmussen on vocals, Kenwyn House (formerly of Reef) on guitar, Geoff Laurens on bass and Chris Hardwick on drums, Goldray have built up a formidable live reputation over the last five years. 2014 saw the release of their debut self-titled mini-album, which was met with critical acclaim from Classic Rock Magazine and PROG Magazine, among others. The release was preceded by the band's first single, 'Outloud', which has received radio support from Planet Rock Radio, BBC Introducing and regional rock radio across the country. Following major festival appearances including Download and Bestival, Goldray released their debut album on vinyl at the end of November. This will be the band's last show of 2015 and are set on seeing out the year with a bang!

"Sounding like Yeah Yeah Yeahs going toe-to-toe with Queens Of The Stone Age, Goldray combine sensual, serpentine vocals with primal, bone-rattling guitar riffs the resulting sumptuous concoction gives off the sizzle of British grit, with subtle psychedelic aromas" - Electric Banana

"Pitch together the moodiness of The Doors, the grooviness of Cream and the trippiness of early Floyd and you get this splendid prog 'n' psych magical carpet ride... a highly enjoyable journey" - Classic Rock Magazine

"Goldray's riff-driven psychedelic whoosh owes as much to the Airplane and Jim Morrison's bunch as it does to modern-day outriders such as Tame Impala and Eternal Tapestry. Rasmussen's gorgeous, swooping vocals echo the experimental bent of House's arrangements." PROG Magazine

Candice Gordon
http://candicegordonmusic.com/

Candice Gordon was born in Botswana but moved to Dublin as a child, since which she has lived in a squat in London, busked on the streets of Montpellier and travelled across Europe playing guitar and singing with a circus. Now based in Berlin, Candice's debut 8-track mini-album "Before The Sunset Ends" came out in 2011 and was co-produced by Gordon with her mentor Shane MacGowan. Two non-album singles, 'Smoking Like The Barrel Of A Gun' and 'Cannibal Love', followed in 2012. Released on her own label Proper Octopus Records, new single 'Smoke In The Air' is the first taster from Gordon's forthcoming debut album "Garden of Beasts" (to be released in 2016). With reviews likening her sound to PJ Harvey, Nick Cave or Patti Smith, Gordon cites Nina Simone and Screamin' Jay Hawkins as two of her main influences and she is guaranteed to put a spell on you.

"She’s possessed of a voice like poisoned black molasses trickling down the side of a jewel encrusted goblet held in the gnarly claw of Beelzebub himself. A major new Irish talent" - Hot Press

"She purrs, she snarls, she shrieks and kicks up a mighty storm whilst seeming to exude visceral raw rock 'n' roll energy from every pore" - The VPME

"...with ear-piercing screams, head-banging drums and acid-tongue lyrics, Gordon mirrors the 90s Riot Grrl movement. Her voice is booming and soulful, and she has a no-nonsense, in-your-face manner that seems made for higher things" - The Upcoming

"...dripping in PJ Harvey’s eccentricity, Karen O’s attitude and The Duke Spirit’s ballsy femininity" - Listen With Monger

A.S. Fanning
https://soundcloud.com/asfanning

Singer/songwriter from Dublin, Ireland, now based in Berlin, His first release is the single ‘Carmelita’, a stark and haunting picture of the darker side of Dublin City. Fanning’s songs are often lyrically driven, taking inspiration from Irish literary tradition and folk music as well as from 60s psychedelia and gothic rock n roll.

As a multi-instrumentalist he has been in demand to play with acts such as Dublin troubadour The Mighty Stef, Berlin Industrial Electro outfit Suzies Ashes, and Irish songstress Candice Gordon, most recently producing and playing on Gordon's soon to be released debut LP.

With a debut solo album in the works, the self-produced ‘Carmelita’ is released on November 13th on Proper Octopus Records. Available digitally from the usual outlets and on limited edition 7″ vinyl from select stores.

"If Quentin Tarantino is reading this then you really ought to sign this guy up to do the music for the closing credits of your next film. Dark, delicious, steeped in pathos and with the swagger of a cowboy who has killed more people than he can remember so doesn't even bother trying any more" - Listen With Monger
