The Lobo

Description

Named after Julio Lobo, the famous Cuban sugar baron, The Lobo is an underground bar with rum at its heart.

Found below Charlotte Street, this sultry drinking den is adorned with rattan furniture, bold printed wallpaper and weathered shutters, transporting patrons away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney's CBD and to the sun-soaked streets of Havana. With a crack team of mixologists on hand, the drinks list here is as long as it is varied. For the full Lobo experience though? We recommend diving into the extensive rum collection, which includes bottles imported from Bermuda, Barbados, Panama and beyond. And if all that sipping sounds like hungry work, be sure to check out the gourmet bar snacks on offer, which include flaky pastry empanadas and jam-packed pulled pork Cuban sandwiches.

If you're new to the world of sugar cane liquor, fear not - there is a selection of tasting packages available to try, ranging in price from $60 to $250 per person and complete with expert guidance, rare sips and tasty nibbles.
