Two Melbourne greats have come together as restaurateur Scott Pickett (Matilda 159, Estelle, Lupo) stepped in to save stalwart Longrain in 2020. Inspired by Thailand, the restaurant continues to whip up fresh, Asian food, with a new Aussie twist added. Diners can choose between the banquet or a la carte menu, with plates such as dry red curry of kangaroo, twice-cooked duck legs, and pad Thai with fat tiger prawns gracing both.
Set up for date nights or birthday dinners, the spot’s interiors are just as Instagrammable as the bright dishes, meshing industrial stone columns and metal ceiling pipes with polished wooden floors and artsy chandeliers. Once you’re done with dinner, treat yourself to a digestif in upstairs Longsong, which is filled with pretty Chinese lanterns.
