- Cocktail Bar
Whether or not you’ve got dinner booked at sister bar Gerard’s Bistro, this Melbourne cocktail bar is worth a visit on its own. With a polished concrete bar, industrial pipes running across the ceiling, and casual counter seating, the spot is very much a second date vibe, with enough details to impress without being showy. It’s the cocktail list that will really have you swooning as the team muddle up a signature list - try the bar’s eponym, Gerard, The Drunk, a mix of vodka, rosewater, passionfruit, and pomegranate.
On balmy evenings, head out to the cushion-strewn terrace, which expands out from an old tree with banquet and stool seating. If you’re feeling peckish, the food menu is a mouthwatering mix of Middle Eastern dishes in the form of mezze sharing plates such as spanner crab tabouli, whipped Persian feta, and Wagyu basterma.
