Hardy's Well

Description

Rusholme is home to some iconic Manchester bars and some big student nights in Manchester - it's studen central, and also home to the city's famous curry mile. Hardy's Well is a big pub right in the middle of Rusholme, a landmark that is hugely popular with both students and an older local crowd, who turn up for the good beer, cheap pizzas and the ever-popular pool tables and quiz machines.

Situated on the corner of Dickenson Road, between the Curry Mile and Platt Fields, Hardy's Well is most famous for the mural on its south-facing wall bearing a poem by Lemm Sissay, but its huge beer garden also deserves a special mention – plenty of benches, an old red telephone box and lots of open space for groups of friends to meet up, and very popular with student sports teams. But there is also enough room to find a quiet corner if you want one, either inside or out – through the doors there are cosy couches and snug little areas, great for a day in the pub or for a pre-curry pint or cocktail. There are bar snacks aplenty (think pickled eggs and pork scratchings), plus decent pizzas at student-friendly prices, too.
