From the team behind celeb favourite Chinawhite and its counterpart in London comes Rendition, a slinky new restaurant created with one mission in mind; to revolutionise Manchester’s dining scene by championing high-quality, sustainable British produce across an ever-changing menu.

Taking over the unit formerly inhabited by tapas haunt Tapeo & Wine, the Deansgate hotspot is luxurious yet quirky, with dimmed lighting, sleek interiors, plush velvet seats and even a golden tree illuminated from the inside out. Shelves are filled with vintage knick-knacks, old books, ornaments and see no evil, hear no evil monkeys. The whole venue has a bit of a speakeasy-style vibe, and we’re here for it.

The kitchen is run by Arthur Potts Dawson, an environmental activist and the previous head chef of London’s River Café. Due to the seasonal nature of the ingredients, the fine dining menu changes weekly, although you can always expect a delicious exploration of British flavours. To give you an idea of what to expect, current dishes include lamb rump accompanied by peas, broad beans and hassle back potatoes, and cured cod with pickled kohlrabi. If you're looking for something to whet your whistle, the bar offers experimental mixes such as the tea party, which sees white spirits mingling with apple, lychee, lemon and coconut, served in a teacup after being boiled with CO2.
