Thought Christmas was cancelled? Think again.
The Escape To Freight Island elves have been hard at work, re-crafting their venue into a sparkling winter grotto for all the family to enjoy. From the 16th December, the Depot Mayfield pop-up is hoping to welcome you and your household to eat, drink and be merry, with an array of big name DJs to boot.
Taking over the outdoor space, Winter Island is a fun, festive event that comes heated, covered and fronting a 45ft Christmas tree. Out here you'll find plenty of socially distant seating, as well as a cute seasonal market, complete with mulled wine and hot cider, bratwurst grill, artisan cheesemongers and chocolatiers, and even a hog roast hut.
During lockdown, vendors from the Ticket Hall were offering deliveries and click & collect across the city. These included names such as Voodoo Rays and Madre, alongside Belzan Pasta Kitchen and Ancoats cocktail spot, The Jane Eyre. They're expect to return once the venue has fully reopened and local restrictions have eased.
The entertainment will also be stepping things up a notch with a mammoth programme of exciting activities and excellent music which have been teased for December and the start of 2021. This includes cabaret, comedy, kids' shows and DJ sets from underground talent and household names.
The Ticket Hall and Winter Island are planning to reopen from 16th December at the Depot Mayfield, 11 Baring Street, Manchester M1 2PY. Tables and events are available to book via their website for households of up to 6. And if you're looking for more yuletide inspiration? We're keeping you up-to-date on all the best Christmas events in Manchester.
