It really is the most wonderful time of the year...
The Escape To Freight Island elves have been hard at work, re-crafting their venue into a sparkling winter grotto that's been two years in the making. From 5th November to 31st December, the Depot Mayfield pop-up is hoping to welcome you and your household to eat, drink and be merry, with an array of big-name DJs to boot.
Taking over the outdoor space, Winter Island is a fun, festive event that comes heated, covered and topped off with a 45ft Christmas tree. Out here, you'll find plenty of seating, as well as a cute seasonal market, complete with mulled wine and hot cider, bratwurst grill, artisan cheesemongers and chocolatiers, and even a hog roast hut.
Vendors from the Ticket Hall will be dishing up signature grub (of course), so expect warming meals from the likes of Voodoo Rays and Madre, alongside Belzan Pasta Kitchen and Ancoats cocktail spot, The Jane Eyre. There's also an all-new Sunday special from Baraxturi, who will be putting a Basque-inspired spin on a classic roast dinner.
The entertainment will also be stepping things up a notch with a mammoth programme of exciting activities and excellent music which have been teased for December and the start of 2021. This includes cabaret, kids' shows and DJ sets from underground talent and household names. And if stand-up comedy is your thing? The Comedy Store will be taking over the Ticket Hall every Tuesday for a few hump day laughs.
The Ticket Hall and Winter Island are planning to reopen from 5th November to 31st December at the Depot Mayfield, 11 Baring Street, Manchester M1 2PY. Tables and events are available to book via their website. And if you're looking for more yuletide inspiration? We're keeping you up-to-date on all the best Christmas events in Manchester.
