Freight Island is transforming into a twinkling winter pop-up.
It really is the most wonderful time of the year...
The Freight Island elves have been hard at work, re-crafting their venue into a sparkling winter grotto. From 9th November to 24th December, Winter Island is hoping to welcome you and your friends to eat, drink and be merry.
Taking over the outdoor space, this pop-up is a fun, festive event that comes heated, covered and topped off with a 45ft Christmas tree. Out here, you'll find plenty of seating, as well as a cute seasonal market complete with hot chocolates, giant 22” pizzas, Indian and Mediterranean street food, Sunday Roasts and even cheesecake on a stick. Another the highlight of the Winter Island Manchester menu? A hog roast butty from Smoking Coal German BBQ.
The city's immersive Twilight Trail, beginning in Mayfield Park, will also be finishing at Freight Island this year. So after experiencing a mesmerising light show, why not relax with a drink here?
The Mezz will be transformed into an alpine lodge from Grey Goose, perfect for Christmas parties. There are lots of boozy options throughout the event too, such as a Kopparberg bar and specialty wines. You can also expect a mammoth programme of exciting activities, including wreath-making workshops, a Santa experience and more to be announced.
