Edge Street's May Bank Holiday Street Party Returns

May Bank Holiday is nearly upon us, bringing with it three whole days of merriment and fun in the sun (we hope). And what better way to celebrate an extra day off work and the long awaited onset of summer than with a street party, Northern Quarter stylee.

Easily one of the best bank holiday parties in Manchester, the world famous (probably, by now) 'Ain't No Party Like An Edge Street Party' returns on Sunday 5th May 2013, to take over Edge Street with all the usual sunshine, good times and plenty of boogie.

This year sees Common team up with neighbouring Manchester bars, Terrace and Home Sweet Home, who'll be combining their formidable superpowers to ensure that the event lives up to the promise of its name - not to mention its assurance of being "9% better than last time". A grand claim, but we're sure these guys can pull it off. There'll be music all day from some of Manchester's favourite DJs and live bands, as well as village fete stalls and - of course - a great selection of food and drink. You'll also be able to test your brains and brawn at the Common Knowledge Quiz and Ping Pong Club respectively.

The street party will take place as part of the Northern Quarter Takeover in association with local charity 'We Love Manchester', and will also be raising money for Mind and Water Aid.

And the best part? It's all absolutely free. So pop on your party hat and join the fun.
