She was a monster. He cut off her head.

This is the Medusa we remember - but who was the woman behind the myth?

27 degrees and the Thames Tunnel present a new, immersive experience revisiting the story of Medusa through intimate and sensory theatre, contemporary dance, shadow puppetry, sound installations and of course, a mythical bar. Explore underground tunnels at night and follow the path of the many Medusas that live among us. A contemporary take on a well-known tale, examining what it takes for women to be considered monsters.

27 degrees (north) is the latitude at the crossroad between Lima, Brussels, and Zagreb. This new multicultural collective of artists has produced an ambitious thought-provoking exploration into the nature of female rage. Beautifully signaled through the use of projection, sound and physical action, 'Medusa' charts an immersive collective journey that will rattle and shake how to we choose to interpret myth today. Gazers will not be turned into stone in this beautiful performance space! M A visited Thames Tunnel Shaft on 27 Sep 2017

This intriguing and beautiful show about Medusa and various females whom are associated with being called a monster. The Brunel Shaft Tunnel is an interesting and unique location and the company did a great job in taking over the space. It's a singular space but there is a lot to explore and discover about the characters, so be on the lookout. There is a cool and affordable labyrinth bar to enjoy which complements both the show and the venue. Would highly recommend this show. fyfes visited Thames Tunnel Shaft on 28 Sep 2017

This was a bit too artsy for my taste.... anyone interested in immersive theatre in the style of Punckdrunk or even Secret Cinema will be disappointed, this is very abstract. Lucy visited Thames Tunnel Shaft on 27 Sep 2017
