"Original music as well as fresh re-workings of tunes by the likes of
Paul Simon, The Police and the Beatles"
Vocalist, multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar, banjo) and composer/arranger Daisy Chutegrew up in Edinburgh amidst her American mother's jazz record and sheet music collection. Daisy was an early starter and a regular to the Scottish venues and festivals, performing with the David Patrick trio, Simon Thacker’s Camerata Ritmata quartet and as the first vocalist for NYJOS. At 15 she had masterclasses from jazz greats Mark Murphy, Barbara Morrison and Sheila Jordan who all encouraged her to record her first album Simply Jazz. She became the youngest artist to be played on Humphrey Lyttelton’s BBC Radio 2 show Best of Jazz.
She moved to London at 16 to study at The Purcell School of Music on full scholarship and shortly after signed her first record deal with Universal Classics and Jazz, releasing 3 platinum-selling albums as part of vocal quartet All Angels.
She’s appeared alongside renowned jazz artists Liam Noble, Mark Nightingale, Liane Carroll, Ian Shaw, John Altman, Barbara Morrison and most recently is a featured vocalist on Richard Niles’ Bandzilla Rises album which also features Randy Brecker, Lamont Dozier Jr. and Leo Sayer. She is Head of Voice at the World Heart Beat Music Academy and is sponsored by Gucci and the Grammy Foundation to teach talented scholarship students alongside Trevor Watkis, Byron Wallen, Tony Kofi, Cleveland Watkiss, Julian Joseph, Mark Mondesir, Tammy Weis and Brazilian musicians Pepe Barcellos and Almir Pessoa.
The late Humphrey Lyttelton, Best of Jazz, BBC Radio 2
”Daisy, like Barbra Streisand, has a fully developed vocal talent at a young age. This girl has the gift of communication.”
The late Mark Murphy, jazz singer and Six time Grammy nominee
”Exquisitely delicious. Delicate, like a gossamar-winged creature made out of spunned gold. You’ve channeled the sense of bossa nova, but you’ve added something quite British”
Tony Moore, Soho Radio (describing Daisy's original song I Left My Heart in Rio, 2016)
Alex Curtis has a multifaceted career as a pianist, composer, arranger and educator. He has worked in many different genres which stems from his interest in all styles of music which began at an early age. A skilled composer and arranger, Alex has worked with several top vocalists including Beth Hirsch (Air), Katina Kangaris and Ana Silvera. In 2011, Alex collaborated with Ana for a ground breaking sellout series of concerts at the Roundhouse in London. For this, he arranged Ana's songs for choir, small band and string quartet to much critical acclaim.
