An evening of post-Soviet cabaret with Olgetta Kretz accompanied by Liam Stevens (piano), Ramiro Nocelli (guitar) and Faith Ristic (accordion).
Olgetta Kretz is a multilingual cabaret performer living in London since 2010. Her cabaret shows have been characterised as ‘quirky’ and ‘highly personal’. In the opening set, you will hear folk songs and ballads from Eastern Europe and beyond. At the very heart of the show, she performs songs from Soviet films, widely unknown in the West. The final set is brimming with Weimar-style cabaret numbers with a little touch of French chanson… She is also happy to share some of her life experiences, writings and political satire in between songs!
