167Live at The Drury Club Presents Metro Acoustic, 28th May2015:
Johnny Lucas’ Your UFO, The Official Video Launch
167Live is back at the stunning Drury Club to continue its tradition of bringing the very best live music acts to the London scene. This month the event is being produced in collaboration with two bodies within Metropolis Studios – Metro Acoustic and ACM@Metropolis, ACM being the Academy of Contemporary Music, which has seen huge success amongst its alumni, which includes Ed Sheeran and Momford & Sons. The gig celebrates the launch of the latest video, Your UFO, from vibrant singer songwriter, loop pedal wizard and audience favourite, Johnny Lucas. Johnny will be supported on stage by some of ACM’s most promising students and alumni.
Here’s the lineup: Celebrating the launch of his latest video, Your UFO, Johnny Lucas will headline the night. Looking forward to sets at the Isle of Wight Festival, Cornbury and Glastonbury this summer, Johnny has been receiving a lot of positive reaction from the music industry having just finished a monster 60 date UK tour and been crowned Caffe Nero’s Artist of the Month at the end of last year. Led Zeppelin legend Jimmy Page is even a fan. Freshly returned from gigs in Italy and Scandinavia and with a trip to LA coming up within the next few months, the crowd will be lucky to catch Johnny’s set while he’s in town.
Main support act at this 167Live will be The Blues Magazine’s ‘2015 Band To Watch’ and Winners of The Larmer Tree Festival ‘Breakthrough Artist Award 2015’, The Villanovas. They incorporate the best elements of classic blues, rock, and soul artists into their set.
Also performing this month are Child of Cecilia, Sam McKenna, Anya Lou and Cellars.
The 167Live crowd have become accustomed to discovering some of the cream of musical talent on the live scene at these nights. There is a truly impeccable standard among the acts selected to perform here, drawing in music lovers and industry in ever growing numbers. The organisers say, “It is such a privilege to see these artists perform on an accessible stage in the heart of London’s Covent Garden. Every month we are wowed.”
