What they say:

Choo choo, jump aboard the Gunpowder train, because I don't think it's going to stop. Harneet and Devina Baweja have already opened Gunpowder, Madame D, and Gul & Sepoy, with Tower Bridge making it their fourth venue opening in two years. However, this addition is planning to build on their heritage, serving up Indian dishes with a focus on home-style, Calcutta dishes – where the two owners met, actually. Opening in the One Tower Bridge development, a bakery will open alongside the dining room, which will transform into a wine bar at night.

What we say:

If you're familiar with the Spitalfields branch, you know what to expect: modern interiors and good looking food. Gunpowder Tower Bridge's bakery will serve home bakes, such as Goan sausage rolls, mutton sandwiches, and orange and cardamom tarts, which you can eat in or take away. But once it’s night, this will turn into a wine bar, offering snacks like pickles and cheese toasties. Otherwise, seat yourself in the dining room and enjoy a menu influenced by the owner’s and head chef’s family recipes.
