About the Social Diner
The Social Diner is a gourmet supper club with a social purpose. We invite an extraordinary chef to cook alongside our apprentices at our social enterprise restaurant, Brigade Bar + Kitchen. Brigade trains people affected by homelessness to work in hospitality and catering and has employed over 150 people as apprentices. We've seen the likes of Michel roux Jr (The Langham), Nigel Haworth ( Northcote), Lesley Waters (Lesley Waters Cookery School) and Ping Coombe (Masterchef winner of 2014) lead our supper clubs over the years.
We're excited to have Chris King back for a 3rd supperclub at Brigade Bar + Kitchen. Chris will be leading the Brigade team and the apprentices to prepare a set course menu alongside with our Chef founder of Beyond Food and Brigade; Simon Boyle. The night will also include a unique hospitality raffle! All profits will fund our training programmes for people affected by homelessness.
About Chris King
Chris is The Langham, London’s Executive Chef and oversees food operations across the hotel alongside a brigade of 65 chefs.
Summer seasons in restaurants in Spain and part-time work while at university led to a Commis position with Michel Roux Jr at his two-Michelin starred Le Gavroche, where he worked his way up to Sous Chef. Chris then worked with Thomas Keller at Per Se in New York, before returning to the UK to help open Roux at Parliament Square. When Roux at The Landau opened in 2010 Chris took on the role of Head Chef. He was then appointed Executive Chef of The Langham in 2015, followed by winning a CATEY - a key industry award - as Hotel Chef of the Year in 2017.

Brigade and Beyond Food Foundation have trained hundreds of apprentices into jobs and given thousands of homeless people new skills. With rough sleeping in London having more than doubled in the last six years, it’s an issue of critical importance.
