Located in the heart of Soho, The Duke of Wellington is one of the friendliest gay bars in London serving up a wide selection of wines and spirits in an informal environment. Whilst appearing like a pub, inside you'll find much more of a bar atmosphere with an interesting cocktail list and music that grows progressively louder as the night goes on and the dancefloor packs out.
The pub is gay-friendly, however, there is a good mix of people who all easily mingle in the buzzing early evening hours. Decoration is sparse so the atmosphere depends on the people in it meaning that it can seem a little sedate in the daytime. However, it quickly becomes busier and the staff are also all very friendly ensuring you have as fun a night out as possible.
Casual and unpretentious, The Duke of Wellington is a chilled starting off point for an evening out exploring the rest of the Soho bars and clubs.
