Arranged a party of 12 on Sunday the 14th of Feb with 1 weeks notice. I needed menus for two Vegans and one Celliac for my sons birthday and Bon voyage as he was traveling. The venue had advised they were able to accommodate and make a vegan birthday cake also, confirmed with the chef by the events manager. I emailed them on the Friday to check that everything was OK only to be advised that all good for special menu but not the cake! I'm not sure when they was going to advise me of this?? When we arrived they had not made any menu arrangement like confirmed and was very chaotic!! after offering my son two sweet potatoe options - Starter and Maincourse ! I said this was totally unexceptable as we had arranged this. One of the managers finally sorted this after being seated for over 1 hour. Some of the dinners came out very small and cold. It's such a shame as I loved the venu but feel totally let down. They have an events manager that clearly cannot manage events. doherty visited The Sail Loft on 21 Feb 2016

So Dissapointed! Booked a table online for 6 pm on valentines day. Then called them to say if we could come at 7 pm instead. The person on the phone said was fine they were not taking bookings and it was walk ins only. Got there, the guy came to us with a menu of aprox 8 dishes n said they ran out of pork chicken n potatoes. Not great choice! He came back after 10 minutes with a different menu (slightly better with few more veg fish n beef choices) we chose the food n was waiting for another 10 minutes for someone to come take the orders n give us the wine list maybe!!! After all that wait he came back n said he was sorry but we had to go with the first menu n we couldn't have what we chose as that menu was not for valentines/ Sunday!!! Very Dissapointed Priya visited The Sail Loft on 14 Feb 2016

A real mixture. We loved the situation (on the river), the decor and our food was good. However, the wait staff in the restaurant were not good. We were made to feel like asking for cutlery, butter, more drinks etc was an inconvenience and they (quite literally) did not stop when we tried to get their attention, they would semi-stop, not approach our table properly, take our request and then either it would not appear or they would come back and ask again, or we'd have to try to attract their attention again. For an expensive London pub/restaurant with a high service charge automatically added, we feel strongly that that wait staff in the restaurant need to improve. Having said that, we were impressed with the barman (upstairs in restaurant) who served us drinks before we went to our table. rb visited The Sail Loft on 21 Feb 2016

Great location, atmosphere, and setting limited menu ( not enough pub classics) took a long time to be served and for four of our party of nine not hot enough Bit expensive for pub restaurant friendly staff teamar visited The Sail Loft on 06 Feb 2016

Loved it. Atmosphere was brilliant, and I loved the decor. Agree with the previous post that the staff are obviously still learning, but they were very friendly and did the job. Food was great - I had the Ox Cheek, and my friends had the burger and salad, which looked awesome.

Lovely build and great atmosphere. Staff seemed friendly but obviously still learning the ropes given you've only just opened. We sent our first meal back as the bun was stale. We also live locally and were advised that there was a discount card, but were unable to get it there and then as we were told to come back during the day to pick up from the events manager. Sure you'll agree tough to do when I work. The menu looks impressive but I'd like to see a few more 'pub classics' (just my opinion) David visited The Sail Loft on 02 Feb 2016

Way overpriced is the overall impression. The mediocre burger and chips (no salad) at £13 and the beer at £4.50 is way over the top. Decor is confused. Bare concrete, rough woodwork, factory like air conditioning and some model boats. Staff were very nice but the draughty interior downstairs is unfriendly. There is work to be done here otherwise I will not return.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a brunch offering on Sunday morning. The food was excellent. Fantasticly soft poached eggs with avocado, Better than I've ever had. Service was friendly and the atmosphere is light and warm. Perfect for that time of day.

Great Staff but the rest seems a bit mixed up... is it a pub with food.. no... is is a bar with a restaurant no not really... The bar area, decor staff all really nice.. lack of cocktail menu and extensive wine list keeps it firmly in the posh pub catagory tather than a good bar. The restaurant upstairs again is nice... i would be concerned if i had one of the tables with bench seating however i expect a back rest in a place that has the prices of a mid range restaurant, happily we didnt need to worry last night and were seated at a table for 2 against the far wall... views still possible but the location of the till directly behind my head with no screening meant the staff instructions from the manager were quite intrusive, coupled with the fact i really didnt need to know at 7pm on a Saturday night opening weekend they had already run out of soup and must "push the Oysters" , teconsider where staff instruction are given and move the till would be my suggestion. Ok so now the food, not expensive but not pub food pices..perhaps gasto pub would be a better thought. Not an extensive menu, which is gine as long as it changes regularly otherwise it would deter me from returning often. I had Salmon a nice fresh potted course "pate" would have benefitted from being out of the fridge a touch longer before serving as toward the end of eating its taste became infinitely better as it reached room temperature rather than fridge cold when served. My partner had the Pork Rillets with chipotle sauce.. tasty but distinctly lacking in chipotle sauce/flavour, dont you just hate it when that happens... if you are using an ingredient that you thought important enough to mention please make sure it can be tasted. For the main course we both had the Ox Cheeks... which in honesty were gorgeous melt in mouth quality meat, only criticism was there was not enough accompanying gravy, the downside "bacon dumplings was both lacking in bacon flavour (see starter review !) and frakly unessesary they were a touch dry which perhaps would not have been an issue had the gravy that accompanied the ox cheeks been adequate, mash potatoe... which was a side at additional cost was "clacky" needed perhaps more butter, also maybe dont serve in a rather odd "shaped quinel" it looked pre formed. Overall a rather average experience for food and disappointed in the not a real ale beer drinker and lack of cocktails or choice on bottled continental lager beers (Budweiser, Grolsch,Tiger etc..) meant that we decided not to stay after our meal which was a shame as that had been our intention. One further point.. a lot of money has been spent on the very nice riverside outside area so why oh why are there no outside heaters... ? A definate must in uk regardless of time of year riverside gets a chill

With Fuller's always been a trustworthy name, I'm positive the sail loft is sure to do really well. From what I've heard it sounds amazing, can't wait to check it out.
