Description
AHIR SHAH
A veteran of the comedy scene, yet barely out of his twenties, Ahir has spent more than a decade honing his craft and is now an expert in the art of finely crafted, super-intelligent heartfelt satire. His latest shows – Control and Duffer - have garnered him a deserved pair of nominations for Best Show at the Edinburgh Fringe and it showcased all his hugely linguistic flair and performative verve as he tackled big ideas of globalisation, fascism, empire and milk.
"Excellent…A questing argument against compassion fatigue and a generational cri de coeur.” ★★★★ The Guardian
“Intricately crafted, profoundly moving, howlingly funny … a blazing talent firing on all cylinders.” ★★★★★ Telegraph
"Fiendishly clever and furious." ★★★★ The Times
WILL DUGGAN
Part of the team behind the anarchic Edinburgh Panel Prize winning hit 'Funz and Gamez', Will is the sardonic man behind the mask of Bonzo the dog. He is also possessed of one of the driest wits in the land, at ease firing back and forth with audience interaction or showing off his impressive smarts on a range of subjects.
"Vibrant and risue, Duggan's comedy isn't really afraid of what you think of him - as long as you laugh that is." Edinburgh Festival Magazine
“Absorbs you so completely you don’t see the payoff coming.” Chortle
TOM WARD
Comedian, writer, actor, filmmaker and voice-over artist Tom Ward has made a name for himself in comedy since appearing as a finalist in the BBC Radio New Comedy Award, Leicester Square New Comedian Final, NATY Final, and winning the Chortle Award for Best Newcomer in 2017. Placed somewhere in the comedy universe between the wondrous daftness of The Boosh and the Cockney Geezerprov of Terry Alderton, Tom is a hurricane of hilarious invention.
Tom has appeared on Comedy Central at the Comedy Store, Stand Up Central, and Roast Battles for Comedy Central as well as a debut appearance on Live at the Apollo this year. He's a superbly assured and hugely funny comedian who is sure to be a household name soon.
“Fine jokes and star presence.” Time Out
“Staggeringly impressive.” The Herald
“Inspired whimsy.” The List
“Absolutely glorious.” Fest
LILY PHILLIPS
As seen on BBC3, All4, Comedy Central and ITV2 join Lily on her journey from cheerleader, to feminist, to dog mother. Female comedians are often criticised for just talking about their Vaginas, which is offensive, but in Lily’s case 100% true and now she has a dog, she can talk about hers too. Lily was Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year Runner Up, Funny Women Finalist and she was part of the prestigious Pleasance Reserve in 2019
“Dry, feminist wit.” Evening Standard
AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:
BEN VAN DER VELDE
One of the quickest wits around and a much-loved compere, he always brings a jam-packed back of nonsense, silliness and wisecracks to every gig he hosts.
"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine
“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.” Huffington Poste
