JAKE LAMBERT

Jake Lambert fell into a career as a stand up, after gaining a following on Twitter under the pseudonym @LittleLostLad he decided to put down his iPhone and pick up a microphone. It has proven to be a great choice with him making it to the final of the Amused Moose Final 2016, semi-finals of the BBC New Comedy Award 2015, Magners New Comedian of the Year 2015, English Comedian of the Year 2015 and the Leicester Mercury New Act of the Year 2015.

Jake has gone on to support Michael McIntyre, Seann Walsh, Kerry Godliman, Tom Allen and Rob Beckett on their UK tours as well as writing on Mock The Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats, The Now Show, and The News Quiz.

Lovers of wordplay and comedic rug-pulling can't get enough of this terrific young star in the making.

"He's got gags to burn and can weave them seamlessly into his routines." Chortle

ALICE BRINE

Alice Brine is a comedian, actress, writer and director from Wellington, New Zealand.

Alice began performing comedy in 2015 and it was clear from the onset she was a real talent. In a bizarre but deserved turn of events she found herself supporting Ed Byrne on tour in only her third ever gig.

She has had a remarkably quick rise to prominence on the New Zealand comedy scene, selling out two consecutive festival runs with her shows ‘Brinestorm’ and ‘No one Puts Briney In The Corner’ respectively. The latter of those shows earned her a nomination for the prestigious Billy T award, the highest accolade of the festival with previous winners including Rose Matafeo and Guy Montgomery.

Her honest, candid and likeable onstage persona saw her popularity grow and it wasn’t long before she was hand picked to support Alan Carr on his tour of the South Pacific. Since then she has appeared on a raft of shows including 7 Days – The NZ equivalent of Mock The Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats.

“Superb. Serious applause to Alice.” Cosmopolitan

CHARLIE GEORGE

Charlie George is an award-winning stand-up comedian and writer.

A former circus performer and dancer, Charlie started doing stand-up in 2018 and, since then, has fast become one of the UK circuit’s most exciting new talents. A runner-up in both the prestigious Funny Women and So You Think You’re Funny? comedy competitions of 2019, she has also performed stand-up on BBC Asian Network Live and the BBC’s No Country For Young Women Podcast.

A talented and accomplished writer, Charlie was shortlisted for a Creative Futures Award, longlisted for a Thousand Films and Sid Gentle scriptwriting competition and selected for the BFI Film Network. Charlie was also recently selected to join Charlie Brooker’s writing team for new BBC Two series, Cunk & Other Humans.

“A personable and witty comic with a playful, naughty streak and an ear for a strong gag.” Chortle

“Hilarious and no messin.” BBC Asian Network Comedy

PAUL SAVAGE

Paul Savage started performing comedy in 2007. Since then he has performed all over Britain, from the highlands of Scotland to the bottom tip of Cornwall, and hundreds of places in between. In the 10 years he’s been going, he has performed over 1700 gigs, including six runs at the Edinburgh Festival, starting with the the Free Tea and Biscuits Show, which set a record for having the most genuinely homeless people in one audience front row (7). He also performed his debut hour “Cheerful Shambles” in 2013 which was well received by audiences and critics and had no homeless people in (as far as he’s aware). Since then, he’s performed the critically acclaimed fringe shows “All The Jokes In The Bible” (2014, and 2016) and “Tired and Emotional” (2015). He is also the co-wrote and starred in the profane, blasphemous and completely hilarious game show Hell to Play.

In his spare time he runs a small company that makes fruit gin infusions called Gin Sauvage.

“Writes a good joke, draws a good cartoon: an all round hoot.” Guardian

AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:

BEN VAN DER VELDE

One of the quickest wits around and a much-loved compere, he always brings a jam-packed back of nonsense, silliness and wisecracks to every gig he hosts.

"Sharp and crafty gagsmith, a life-giving compere." Chortle

"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine

“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.”  Huffington Post
