Both laid-back and inviting, The Joker of Penton Street is an ideal retreat and a best London pub for some after work boozing or some Sunday roast rituals as their kitchen happens to knock up some cracking dinners.

Sat comfortably on the edge of Wimbledon Common, it's become a favourite spot amongst the local population. The team behind the pub have worked tirelessly to create a welcoming, laid back atmosphere; guests can settled down by a fire or take in some sunshine on the green opposite. But crucially, it's the long list of craft ales, locally brewed beers and menu composed of the finest cuts of meat and freshest fish dishes that keeps alluring their visitors.

The beautifully decorated seating areas boast all the opulent features that you'd expect from a hotel pub, but simultaneously clashes wonderfully with the traditional, dark brown wooden frame of the bar. Notorious among Battersea folk and pulling in a crowd from all over London, The Four Thieves is something of a pubbing playground where you'll find a pub, microbrewery, live music venue, gaming bar and comedy host all-in-one. We kid you not, this place is pretty massive and its reputation is by far one of the best London pubs so a visit SW11 will see you right through. Frankly, you might not ever really have to leave?
