Join us from 7pm for Putney's own take on Rio. Our resident Dj Ingrid Gobbo - ( brazilian funk ) Funk Carioca, is a music genre from Rio de Janeiro differed from funk, with roots from Miami and gangsta rap music. It’s popularity in the 70’s emerged from bailes da pesada, black soul, shaft, and the Funk started to emerge in Rio. As time went Dj’s started to look for other rhythms of black music and the original name did not remain. Dj JazzyFace Early history and origins, Reggaeton’s roots originated in Panama and evolved in the prominence of Puerto Rico. It’s an adaption of Jamaican Reggae to the Spanish language spoken in Panama. DJs pump sexy beats through our state-of-the-art sound system all night long, bringing you an eclectic mix of commercial dance, club anthems, contemporary chart re-works, electro, D'n'B, and some old school crooners thrown in for good measure.
