A drinkers guide to London this July

Summer is flying by, already we are into July, Wimbledon and Glastonbury are over and the days are now officially getting shorter. Despite this there are still plenty of summer drinking exploits to be had and at drinkonomical prices of course!

The band wagon of speakeasy bars continues to roll on strongly and there are a couple of new favourites I have stumbled on. The not-so-secret Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town is a hidden bar behind a Smeg Fridge, sounds exciting right! It is run by the people behind The Breakfast Club who know a good concept when they see one so gets a thumbs up from us, check out our review of the Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town. Following on this theme, the London pop up continues and Nick House from Mahiki fame has created The Little Black Door for just 3 months only and is an easy-going basement club for the glamorous of London. Our New Bar Spy have been spying out all the Little Black door information

Talking of Mahiki, they have been busy these past few weeks. They have just launched their No-Tell Motel private room and Karaoke pad.  Think Vegas, think Thelma and Louise and get your party on at this mock motel with shower and bed thrown into the mixer!

Mahiki in Mayfair now offers up a good old Las Vegas Karaoke sing-along!

There are still plenty of London Summer festivals for all those who love a good day time alfresco drink, we thoroughly enjoyed the new Jamie Oliver festival this weekend, Feastival, that was the perfect blend of fine food, tasty drinks and some great bands and DJs. Find your London summer festival here.

How about a few drinkonomical places to try this week where cheap drinks are the order of the day. The Spanish tapas bar Salvador and Amanda has a fantastic happy hour Monday-Friday where you can get jugs of Sangria for £10 or how about the best priced beer in London at this Sam Smiths brewer pub in London, Glasshouse Stores. I am also loving the 2 for 1 cocktails that you can bag down at Venn Street Records; a perfect summer feel good bar.

We are very close to expanding designmynight to Brixton so soon you can expect the best Brixton bars, pubs and clubs. You may be interested to know that the Fridge nightclub in Brixton has closed down and is getting an exciting makeover as a live music venue called Electric Brixton that looks like it will add to the growing Brixton club scene.

Soon you will able to enjoy designmynight.com in Brixton.

Finally if you have the holiday blues or just want a bit of beach in your life in London then get down to Basil€™s beach bar at The Goring Hotel where you can sip cocktails in a beautifully crafted Caribbean beach bar. Enjoy your July in London!
