5 Pop-Ups We'd Like To See in 2017

Sure, we get it now; plenty of sites are committed to predicting this year's food, drink and event trends. And while pitta is set to make it massive while the humble avocado is dreaded to live on 2017's back-burner, we're far more interested in what this year's events have in store. Scrapping all things speakeasy and leaving freakshakes behind, here are the pop-up event themes we'd like to see in London in 2017.

UFO Landing

Whether you believe the rumours that I was once poked and prodded in a giant space can, or simply love binging on the babe that is Roswell, there's one theme that London's event scene seems to be lacking, and that's the UFO. While we shouldn't poke fun at a potential race that's doomed to take over our planet, I as a confessed sci-fi fan would like to see somewhere where my drink, and interplanetary needs are catered for.

E.T and Roswell have yet to have their time to shine in the heart of London.

Trumptown

He's the talk of the town, chat of the planet, Time's god damn name of the year, and we'd like to see an event about it. Why would we like to see an event in London about it we hear you exclaim? So we can moan about it on Twitter and Facebook, call out the indecency of the fella, buy tickets, not show up, watch First Dates in our pants and class the whole show a flop.

Hate him, or most certainly hate him, no-one can seem to stop talking about him.

Dreamphone Speed Dating

Tinder may be the heart of my relationship's success story, but for some, it's a pit of only-almost-love, dregs and doom. When it comes to another dating game that ensures sure-fire success, only one thing springs to mind: Dream Phone. We suggest a speed dating night where exchanges are made only via collected cards, short bios, images and phone calls... with alcohol. What could possibly go wrong?

If Tinder sucks, and speed-dating is done for you, how about a good ol' fashioned chat?

Sweet Potato: Supper Club

As someone who doesn't quite grasp the avocado trend, much like cucumber it's something of a god damn waste of my time, it would be nice to see a supper club related to a food item that I chow down on on a regular, if not sometimes daily basis. Whether you want to turn it into chips, use it as target practice, churn it into a curry or serve as a bowl itself, sweet potato has 283% worth of Vitamin A per 100g and is thick as f... Sold.
