Here for a friends birthday. Found easy enough but as a slightly large group were quite harshly told to close the door. Ok, fair enough but we cant all fit in?! Not the most inviting start. In the basement, cove area I felt we'd be cut off from the atmosphere, Needn't have worried, it was so quite there was no atmosphere. Shame as I'd read some really good reviews. A few of the cocktails tasted just of alcohol. I think I was expecting more. Maybe a Friday night (Or not January) might be a better shout. I can't see how it would be worth the membership.

Made a reservation as a non-member. Was easy to make a week in advance for a friday night at 6pm for 2 hours. The lady at reception was slow checking guests in and taking coats, but considering she's doing all this and taking phone reservations at the same time she did great. But would prefer she was focusing on checking guest in as they're strict on the 2 hour table time. The bar is very dark and reading the menu by candle light is difficult but the staff are very helpful and even make off menu cocktails as well as being happy to discuss and make recommendations. Additionally the food was great and quality of drinks worth the price.

It's a novel place which allows non members in for 2 hour slots before 11pm after which it's members only. It is extremely dark. I would say too dark. It's lit only by candles which are too sweet smelling (honey) and after a while cloying. They specialise in cocktails and my friends said theirs were excellent. We were allocated 'the Cave' for our party- this is a wine vault lined with floor level banquettes. Personally I found this utterly claustrophobic coupled with the candles and darkness. The service was not great - we would have spent more had we been served by the waiter more often. He was charming but had already informed us that he was short staffed that night. The darkness really annoyed me - it was so dark as to become just a pointless pretentious affectation. I wouldn't go back and I certainly wouldn't place it in the top bars in the world category!

This hard to find, and get in to, bar is surprisingly good. The cocktails were good and the staff were all discreet and made excellent drinks. The bar was nicely filled; not too many people but not awkwardly empty. Make sure you phone to book a table before hand

What can I say about Milk and Honey? It doesn’t look like much from the outside and if you try and call up after 5pm to make a booking without being a member it can be quite difficult, but as soon as you manage to locate the little black door on the big black wall next to some pub in Poland St you are instantly transported back to the 1920s/1930s for London’s ultimate speak easy style venue that was 10 years ahead of its time. Milk and Honey is synonymous with cocktails so I obviously had to put them to the test. Their little menu which guests can take away with them is filled with all of the classics as well as some of their own fabulous creations. The cocktails are created to perfection; the bartenders really understand their drinks and more importantly their customers. The basement is an extension of the cocktail bar, the red room on the first floor is a members only space which is furnished with leather sofas as a really relaxing place, and finally the second floor is a space for up to 25 guests as a private event space called the Games Room.
