What they say:

The new architectural masterpiece, Skyroom, looks like a beautiful piece of Tetris made out of glass that has been perfectly turned and twisted to fit on top of a central London roof. During the Olympics, Skyroom will transform into a roof top oasis and garden to host an extraordinary London Picnic Club.

The creative events agency Platterform is overlooking this immersive drinking and dining experience making sure all your picnic aspirations come together to create a rooftop garden with blankets and cushions,  picnic hampers, garden games, live musical and theatrical performances, movies and a deck chair lounge.

Alejandro Bello who made his reputation at Ceviche is responsible for the goodies in your picnic basket with dishes from all around the world. Designed as a sharing meal for 2 or more, expect London Picnic Club hampers to contain inspirational tapas style signature hot dishes, innovative ceviches and garden fresh salads as well as a fine selection of locally produced St. John€™s Bakery artisanal breads, Neal€™s Yard Dairy cheeses, Spanish and Italian charcuterie, home-made preserves and dips, fresh fruits and exotic desserts.

What we say:

Cocktails will be the realm of the innovative coffee company DunneFrankowski, stirring and shaking up cocktails in a botanical drinks laboratory suitable named The SkyLab. Flavours will take their inspiration from the quintessential British summer garden with exclusive recipes and quirky takes on the classics.

Full picnic experience tickets are £35 per person and includes guaranteed entry and picnic meal and must be booked in advance.

Entry is £5 at the door with hamper snacks and small dishes available for visitors wanting to come up for drinks and entertainment but visitors must be on a guest list.
