Many of my party of 6 had viewed the menu online and were disappointed that we were given a limited menu, excluding some regular favourites like flatbread. So we made our adjustments but for the vegetarian in our party, after being told the nachos she had ordered had run out, she ordered the toasted ciabatta but didn't want the mushrooms and tomatoes, thus only leaving ciabatta bun, pepper sauce and mozzarella. This came after the burgers, steak and salad with mushrooms and tomatoes. There were apologies and the item was removed for re: submission, by which time we were 3/4 through our meal. However she had to remove the mozzarella as it was very cold, and not "toasted", and ended up stuffing chips in her butty with the pepper sauce. So we won't be back for a while until they get their new menu up and running and they have the food in stock. Our waiter was lovely and left helpless which was a shame as he was very attentive and he gets 5 stars. But the lack of menu and the veggie mistakes were avoidable. visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 06 Mar 2017

I would really like to thank the staff at fetter lane. They were amazing and made our group feel complete at home. The food and drink was amazing and the non alcoholic cocktails went down a treat. visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 04 Mar 2017

We did not stay in the in end as when we arrived, we were advised there was a 40 minute wait for food. I wouldn't mind but the restaurant didn't look very busy visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 01 Mar 2017

3 weeks ago when I arrived at the Slug I was told it would be a 40-45 minute wait, well as I only get an hour for lunch I couldn't stay. On Monday 27 February I went to the Slug again and when I sat at my table I asked the waitress if the waiting time for food was back to normal and she said it would be about 30-40 minutes, so again I left with no food. If I got there at 1pm and it was busy I could understand it a bit more but seeing as I was there both times at 12.15 and there was hardly anyone else there I can't see why the waiting time was so long. If this carries on I will NOT be visiting the Slug again. visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 27 Feb 2017

Took over 40mins for food to arrive. Food quality was poor and my friend's burger smelt like rotting meat so she couldn't eat it. visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 27 Feb 2017

Made a booking for 2pm, waited 15 minutes for someone to come and seat us even though the place wasn't busy. After being seated, waited 40 minutes and still nobody came to take our order. Eventually one of us then went to the bar and asked if our order could be taken. Used to visit this place often but will not be returning. visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 24 Feb 2017

doesn't deserve any rating - very poor service; our food was forgotten and the bill brought to us before we had our food! No excuse given but think the server forgot us; no other servers or chef queried that the food had been not been served as I think it had been left under the heatlamp; lukewarm by the time it did reach over a hour after ordering visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 20 Feb 2017

Nice lunch, advised before we sat down that the wait was 30-40 mins for lunch as they were short staffed. Seemed keen for us to order drinks as soon as we sat down and then asked a further 4 times (within 7 minutes) what drink we wanted. Ordered drinks and a glass of ice, eventually had to go to the bar an request the ice again. Maybe let people get in and settled, with a quick chat before pouncing on them for a drinks order, especially when you know the food is going to be delayed. Food was very nice despite the wait (which luckily wasn't 40 mins). visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 17 Feb 2017

We arrived for a pre booked lunch on Tuesday. Our food order was taken very quickly, but we had a very long wait for this to arrive (around 35/40 mins) When the food did eventually arrive we were missing 2 side orders of gravy, we were told they would follow but they never did. The bread of my ciabatta was burnt, the edges were black and could not be eaten. Also for a 'hot' sandwich, the contents were ice cold, surely the fillign should also be warm? There was cheese in a chicken burger order, which was not on the menu. No-one came to ask how the food was, or we would of told them then. No-one came to clear the table. We had to go to the bar to pay and again were not asked how the food was. It was very poor service and I would not return or recommend, visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 14 Feb 2017

This was the worst experience I have had at one of the Slug and Lettuce chain. Not only was we told the food was going to be a 20 minute wait (despite a half empty restaurant) we ended up having to wait 45 minute for food. Then when the food was served, one of our meals, being the bacon burger was burnt and looked like it had been charcoaled, it was rock solid. Another, despite one of us asking for vegetables with their meal, were told when the waiter bought the food out that they had run out of vegetables, why wasn't this raised a long time before? Why didn't the waiter raise this in the 45 minute wait we had? Not only that, the waiter service was awful, we waited over 15 minutes for drinks to be given to the table, one of us asked if the sweet potato chips were gluten free to be told by the waiter that she didn't no, and didn't actually go to check. Overall the experience was awful and the waiter was very rude. When coming to pay for the bill it got worse, things that were agreed to be taken off were still showing and splitting the bill seemed like to much hard work. visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 14 Feb 2017

Awful food, arrived burnt after waiting ages, our sides were missing we were told they would be brought out shortly but they never were. Awful service, to pay the bill we had to go up in the end as the Waitress did not come over once during our meal. We will most definitely not be returning. Very disappointing. arrived at 12:30 for our booking (on time) was serviced right away - food then took at least 40 minutes to come (with no one apologising or updating us) the food came without the 2 side orders of gravy we asked for - they then said it was coming (but never did) the two burgers were burnt and the chicken burger came with cheese (which wasnt mentioned on the menu and i didnt want?) sat there waiting to pay for 15/20 minutes and no one came over. then had to go up and ask to pay. wouldn't visit again visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 14 Feb 2017

Hello, I ordered the tamarind marinated pan fried tofu super salad. When it arrived the tofu was scrambled, not pan friend in cubes like the picture and it was not marinated with tamarind - it was fully plain, I asked the serving lady who advised that the tofu came like that in the packet and that is was the chef used. I advised that it was not right (I eat tofu a lot) and she offered to swap it for halloumi which I agreed. When the salad came back out and I started eating it I noticed that despite being advertised as having avocado, seeds, cucumber, roasted tomatoes, baby spinach and radishes none of these were in the salad bowl. I advised the lady again that I wasn't happy with it and I didn't want to eat it. I got the impression that the lady was annoyed with me for saying this. The item was taken off the bill and I declined the offer to have something else made - all my colleagues had had their food and I didn't want to wait and being vegetarian I didn't want what else was on the menu. Overall, my team from work won't be coming back. visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 10 Feb 2017

We were advised on arrival that food would be delayed by 45 minutes. The delay was about 55 minutes and my burger was burnt but it was too late to bother addressing that. It was disappointing that the staffing issues were not brought to my attention before we arrived as I did an online booking providing contact details 3 days before. We were a large group meeting a friend and her young baby and the experience was very disappointing given that we often eat at this location. visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 30 Jan 2017

I don't know why we choose to keep coming back ... perhaps it's because we think it might improve. On this last occasion we pre-ordered our food and still had to wait 20 mins and considering there was hardly anyone in the pub and people leaving as they were being told there would be a 45 mins wait. Shocking really! When the waiter came to clear the table he didn't even ask if we had finished, I was still eating and my plate was taken without any hesitation. Do your staff actually get any training? Will we come back? I really couldn't answer that question now. visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 16 Jan 2017

We had to wait 25 minutes for our pre-ordered drinks, the food arrived and unfortunately one of the meals was incorrect so had to be re-done, they therefore said we would get 25% off the bill which we did, but this was at the detriment of the wine being on the Wine Wednesday deal so was quite disappointing for a xmas lunch, we have been to this Slug several times and have had great service normally, but was let down on this visit. visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 21 Dec 2016

I did not get the food I ordered and the service was diabolical. The staff that were on the premises were more interested in working the bar and completely ignoring the customers at the tables. We had to go to the bar for anything we wanted. Finally after asking for the bill twice and being ignored we went to the bar where a surly young lady printed the bill off the till and just handed it over, no apology, no smile, nothing - no words spoken at all. The one star I have awarded is for the food even though it was not what I ordered. visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 19 Dec 2016

I wish to complain about the service we recently received during lunch at the Slug and Lettuce. Having pre-ordered all our food, I’m sorry to say that several of the meals we ordered didn't arrive. When I questioned this, we were asked to reorder our food, which we obligingly did. However, the staff then turned up with the wrong orders again, replacing tofu with Chicken on one of the dishes, much to the discomfort of my two colleagues, both of whom are vegetarian and therefore find the idea of killing a chicken for food morally reprehensible! In addition to this, the vegetable burrito one of my colleagues ordered was cold! When a member of staff eventually came over to ask about our food, they questioned the details I had sent over prior to the meal. Rather than apologising they took a rather rude tone with me, initially appearing to suggest they couldn’t see what the problem was. When I repeatedly asserted that the noodles and fish and vegetable burrito hadn’t arrived, they eventually, apologised, suggesting they would need to check the facts. I was expecting them to return with the email I sent outlining my original food requests to clarify what had happened, but instead the member of staff walked off and made no effort to return. Two of my colleagues, having waited over 40 minutes for their food to arrive, ended up leaving, buying their lunch elsewhere. I am therefore seeking a formal letter of apology and some financial compensation for the shocking service we received. visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 26 Oct 2016

Having been to this venue on several previous occassions, i was both embarrased and disapointed with the service and attitudes of the staff on Monday. I had booked the table for a friends birthday and to say we all left dispointed is an understatment. we arrived at 12:30 and were seated, the final members arrived shortly behind us. After sitting there for 20 minutes, having seen several servers but not being acknowledged by one of them, one of the party went and found someone who then told us there was at least a 30 minute delay on getting the food she then took our order (although not her section) we then sat there for a further 15 minutes and had to ask somone else if there was a problem with the drinks. they were then bought over and 2 of them were wrong. eventually the food arrived and the two hot meals were just warm, rather than hot and the other three were salad. The only time that we actually had a server come to our table willingly was when we were sorting the bill, he then stood watching whilst we sorted it out. i am afraid we all agreed that the only tip they would receive was one via a review if the request was received. the tip being, Monday is always busier, if there is a need for more waiting staff address it and if it is just out and out in competence then i would suggest that is also addressed as at this time i have no future plans pf returning any day of the week as havent the other 4 members of the party i was with. very disapointed. visited Slug and Lettuce Fetter Lane on 17 Oct 2016
