Forge is there for those who like to work hard and play harder. Situated on Cornhill just moments from Bank, this is a bold venue that brings some sophisticated drinking, dining and dancing to the city.

A striking place kitted out with stripped back brickwork and luxurious leather booths, Forge puts you at ease from minute one. Those here to eat can pick between a bespoke menu of mouth-watering meats, keep your eye out for the coca-cola glazed pork ribs as well as a choice of steak, spit-roast chicken and burgers aplenty.

Forge offers unique and innovative cocktails, as well as beers for those looking for a few chilled ones at the end of a long day. All tipples are hand-picked and are the perfect complement for the many meaty options on show. A sleek and contemporary space close to Bank, Forge suits everything from a quick lunch to after work refreshments, or a meat-feast at dinner time.

Open 'til 3am (Wednesday to Friday), head downstairs and join the party with a lively crowd out to play on a school night.

I was peckish, parched and feeling for an adventure... The time had come for London's scruffiest pup to embark on a curious adventure through the liquid delights of The Big City. My hair was brushed, my shoes were polished and my tights were not...

AWFUL NIGHT ON FRIDAY! My friend and I experienced bad service and treatment by one of the bar attenders. I reported his actions to the supervisor, hope he will take action. I can never go back there again!

Beautiful venue, delicious food and really welcoming and tentative staff members. I would highly recommend this place for cocktails with friends or a nice sit down dinner.

Hired a private Room on a Saturday for my girlfriends birthday, great value for money with no hire fee just a minimum spend which was more than reachable! The cocktail Lounge was a great hit with our friends and family, there canapé menu was awesome and there was no food left over and we were surprised when they treated us to a champagne tower which a lovely touch. Recommend for private bookings.

Had my Birthday Party at Forge couple weeks ago. Beautiful venue, amazing staff, great customer service. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for beautiful birthday dinner and dancing their night away after it under same roof. Love it! We will be back very soon!

Love this little place. A good menu with quite a few options and an awesome cocktail menu. If you're in the area then yes I recommend but it's not worth specifically going to this place.

Had a great dinner here last week, half spit roast chicken was better than Nandos and I loved the original cocktail menu- nice to see a change from the traditional selection that your get everywhere else these days. We were pleasantly surprised after dinner that the had two bars down stairs also one with a huge dance floor and the DJ;s were a hit with the crowd. Worth a visit if your ever near bank

Had a really good evening here. We started on the ground floor in the restaurant. We had a mix of dishes but the steak and fresh fish were the top faves! I think this is one of the best City venues which can offer good food, dancing and cocktails all in one place.

Forge was a huge dissapointment. We booked our company Christmas party for 50 with drinks and food and the whole night was a complete let down. The bouncers with their pretentious jackets were not helpful in the least to people asking for directions to the coat room or toilet, and they were exceptionally rude. Forge is trying to raise their image to be something they are not, once a hovel always a hovel. Miss the good old days of Abacus! Will never come again.

I had my leaving party at Forge with more than 20 people. When I had booked with them I wasn't told that there will be no option of ordering food as they had the bar food and nibbles menu when I had confirmed. When we got there, the people at the bar asked me to order with the waitress. The waitress said sorry we have Xmas bookings so you can't order any food. They didn't even have crisps or peanuts to offer. It was annoying as people were hungry and it was impossible to change the venue after the party had started. After 2 hours of requesting them I told them that we will get some food from the outside and they said sorry it is not allowed. It is only then that the manager arranged for a platter to be sent to our table. It was good in the end but the whole experience dampened our spirits and made it an unpleasant experience. The only good thing was the dancing downstairs.

Forged in London simply put the pemises has lost its soul. Now Abacus was like marmite- a lot of people hated it but at the same time those same people kept coming back. Meat market was the term used for Abacus as it was a great place to meet someone after a hard days work- if you went Abacus you need'nt of gone on a Dating website. As soon as I reached the doors of Forged I was greeted with my integrity being questioned. I was astounded to see that the same doormen from Abacus- (whom may I add refused me entry for nearly 9 months) are still working here. As soon as I got inside after the hassle from outside I was greeted with a band banging out funky tunes- cringe. Just like Core Bar down the road they are trying too hard and whoever wrote the business plan or the concept needs to realise live instrumentation mixed with records sounds takky and simply does not mix and when it does it has shocking consequences. People dont really wanna hear that noise unless they've paid for it. Now considering I was refused enry for 9 months I presume for being male as we are in 2014 and I don't want to really say how I feel- on my arrival downstairs in the 'cocktail club room' I noiced hoards thats right hoards of men- I actually asked my friend where are the strippers- as it was very gentlemans club down there- all that was missing was cigar smoke. After this shocking visuality I decided to return upstairs to have a ciggarette in my old favourite haunt- the back door exit. As i was making my way there I was stopped in Robocop fashion from a waitress whom said that the area was now closed. That was the last straw. Positives however are: the decor is fantastic but as stated earlier they have lost the sould of the place. the music is totally offkey and belongs in Shoreditch- deep tech/house does not work in the City- people want to dance not bounce....Soulful house or Funky house will wok. Management needs to change or this will be regarded as a very expensive failure. T

hmm, this could be interesting! Though doesn't look like they're giving much away just yet. ha. Abacus was a solid bar so if it's the same guys I'm sure it'll be equally as good!
