We've long thought that the Isle of Dogs lacks a world class comedy night which is why The Gun in collaboration with Original Rebel Trading have come together to present a brand new monthly comedy event, the Thames Comedy Club!
This is a comedy event for the more discerning entertainment fan, featuring top comedians, an evening buffet of The Gun's famous food crafted by head chef Matt Colk, some of the finest beverages in London and tying that all together with spectacular views over the Thames.
The comedy night lives up to it's name as you'll be seated under the marquee in our summer Gin Garden. First you'll be welcomed with a complementary glass of Prosecco and between acts you'll be able to get your fill of food with the buffet. Top that off with a bundle of laughs and your night is set!
In the very first of our monthly series of night we've recruited a comedian from across the pond in the shape of Al Lubel with support from Mike Keenan and host Jed Salisbury as well as a secret act to be announced on the night!
Al Lubel
l Lubel graduated from law school in Florida.[1] He was at first a Lawyer and did stand-up comedian in his spare time. But once comedy became the centerpiece of his life he decided to give up the law for good. "I realized I had to give up the practice of law when clients would call me for legal advice at places like the St. Louis Funny Bone."
A turning point in his career was when he won the $100,000 grand prize in Star Search. Since then he has appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.
