What they say:

With four critically-acclaimed restaurants and another in the process of opening, Gary Usher shows no sign of slowing down his empire. Adding to his portfolio of popular neighbourhood bistros, is Kala on King Street. The sixth site follows Sticky Walnut in Chester, Burnt Truffle in Heswall, Wreckfish in Liverpool,  Hispi in Didsbury and Pinion in Prescot - three of which have been crowdfunded by the public. This time around, Usher successfully raised a record-breaking £100,000 in 11 hours - a true testament to the much-loved chef's community ties and quality of cooking.

What we say:

Kala - which translates to black in Urdu - will be bringing you the same carefully sourced ingredients and a la carte menu like its predecessors. Expect a small-bistro style atmosphere in a spacious setting featuring double height windows, modern lighting and banquette seating. Signature dishes include aged beef tartare with oyster and beef fat croutons, as well as, barbecued whole monkfish tail intertwined with red cabbage, mango and macadamia.
