New Bar Spy - Native London Bridge

Sustainable restaurant Native reopens in London Bridge

Native London Bridge

Opens

Now Open

If you winced at the news of Native closing up shop in Covent Garden earlier this year, then you'll be happy to know that they have just opened a brand spanking new site in London Bridge. The new restaurant is almost double the size; located only minutes from the bustling Flat Iron Square and a stone's throw from Borough Market, where the chefs collect fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables each day. With natural light flooding in through large windows, there's trailing greenery and exposed brickwork which give a contemporary feel.

Founders Ivan Tisdall-Downes and Imogen Davis ensure that the menu continues to focus on local produce, through sustainably sourced ingredients and seasonal cooking. Davis forages herbs locally, while seafood is caught by local fisherman in Dorset and venison is from the South Downs. You'll begin with offcuts that would usually go to waste, think grain husks and radish tops, before working your way through dishes like Yesterday's Bread, Jersey Royal and Miso Bagna Cauda. You'll also find the infamous Sea Buckthorn Negroni on the new menu, alongside a whole host of seasonal cocktails and British wines, like the bottle-fermented sparkling wine from Three Choirs. If you fancy going all out, then book a seat at the intimate chef’s table for an 8 course feast.
