Just a stone's throw from Maltby Street Market is the follow up to the highly popular taqueria El Pastor.

Tortilleria El Pastor is the Bermondsey eatery pumping out delicious food and frozen margaritas. Using Mexican heirloom corn to make tortillas on-site from scratch every single day, the 26-cover taco bar also offers a takeaway option. Alongside the fresh tortillas, there's a selection of salsas, cheeses, chillies, mezcal and Mexican beers.

The restaurant offers a short but exciting menu of authentic Mexican food. For a start, there's their house special - the Al Pastor - which features 24-hour marinated pork shoulder with caramelised pineapple and guacamole, or their mushroom taco which comes coated in caramelised onion and Oaxaca cheese. Unlike the original El Pastor site, the Bermondsey location offers sopes; a thick corn dough cake covered in an array of toppings.
