Selfridges Re-Open Rooftop Restaurant With Italian Garden Theme

Selfridges rooftop restaurant London San Carlo

Evoking a secret Italian garden, Selfridges' rooftop will be transformed into a summer dining paradise.

The Selfridges rooftop restaurant is opening its doors for another season. Partnering with Italian restaurant brand, San Carlo, the sky-high suntrap on top of the iconic department store will be transformed into alto by San Carlo, a secret Italian garden complete with floral installations and citrus trees.

Down an evergreen walkway you'll find the dining area. Split into two sections, customers can choose to dine on the al fresco terrace, or in the covered restaurant area, which also features a retractable roof to keep on top of the inconsistent weather patterns of the British summer.

Open every day from 11.30am, the kitchen will serve up a selection of signature dishes including seabass fillet cooked in black volcanic salt from Mount Etna and an enticing basil & prawn risotto, alongside Italian classics and a collection of seasonal plates. To top it all off, there will be an indulgent dolci menu that will feature sharing desserts such as the Coppa Golosa, a giant bowl of chocolate, hazelnut and vanilla gelato sprinkled with Ferrero Rocher pieces and a Nutella sauce.

Over the season, the rooftop will be hosting a number of brand residencies, with Peroni and Veuve Cliquot already confirmed for the spring and summer months.

alto by San Carlo launches on the 27th of April 2018 and is open 11.30am to 11pm from Monday to Saturday, and 11.30am to 6pm on Sundays.
