Brutti ma Buoni is a hotel bar in Merchant City that's popular with more than just the guests in residence. Located in Brunswick Hotel, Brutti ma Buoni means "ugly but good" in Italian - though this joint is far from ugly, and draws an attractive crowd of Merchant City trendy young professionals. Early evening, it makes for a great date location, while later on at weekends, the music gets turned up and a pre-club crowd file in to start the party.
Clean and modern, the venue is styled like a cafe bar in Milan or Rome with wooden features, stylish stool and booth seating and a fuss-free finish. Eats are Mediterranean-inspired, with a wide choice of topped breads and tapas with burgers and baguettes filling bigger plates. To wash it down, cava and wine options are many, while there's also a generous helping of draught and bottled beers and premium spirits.
