Located in the leafy suburb of Pontcanna, family-run Arbennig is worth venturing out of the city centre for.
Despite only being open for two years, Arbennig has already been named one of the best restaurants in Cardiff, a testament to its good-quality food. In order to use the freshest produce from local suppliers, the restaurant changes its menu on a weekly basis. Bread is baked on site daily using organic Welsh flour and the wine list includes several local bottles. Reserve a place at lunch to get two courses for £12.95.
Next to the main restaurant, The Food Emporium has recently opened and is great for breakfasts or a coffee pit stop. Open six days a week, produce is just as fresh as the restaurant - eggs come from the next door neighbours!
A word from the chef:
With a menu that changes weekly and uses local suppliers to ensure the freshest quality, Arbennig is a great place to come for a special occasion or Sunday lunch.
