November is men’s mental health month and to mark it, we’re bringing together a panel of brave, open, and honest men to have a chat about all things mental health on the evening of 30th November.

The importance of raising awareness surrounding men’s mental health is huge. The damage that can be caused by stereotypes and expectations has led to a culture where many men feel unable to openly discuss or seek help for their mental health.

We are here for the evening to just talk and more importantly be heard.

Everyone is welcome.

Joining our panel will be Guy Lloyd, Jon Wilde, Russ Kane, Peter Kyle MP and John Partridge.

Guy Lloyd

Guy Lloyd is a TV and radio presenter, supporting men’s mental health because he hopes his own struggles and experience can help others. ‘The most powerful thing we can do is talk, bring it out in to the open and help remove the stigma that still lingers around an illness that so many people suffer from.’

Jon Wilde

A former journalist. Jon Wilde found a way out of anxiety and depression through mindfulness practice. He now works as a mindfulness

teacher, mentor and recovery coach in Brighton.

Russ Kane

Russ Kane is a broadcaster, author & stand-up. He is the Co-Founder of the multi-award-winning Men's Radio Station which focuses on mental health & well-being. ‘I’m delighted to be on the panel, as anything we can do to remove the stigma surrounding mental health, especially in men, is a step in the right direction. We need to help men really talk.’

Peter Kyle

Peter is the MP for Hove & Portslade and Shadow Schools Minister. He is thrilled to be part of the panel at this event to talk about his passion for getting young people the best start in life and use his experience working on improving mental health help for prisoners in jail.

John Partridge

John Partridge is an English actor, dancer, singer, panelist and television presenter, who is probably best known for the role of Christian Clarke in the BBC’s EastEnders. He has worked extensively as a singer and dancer in musical theatre, portraying Rum Tum Tugger in the official film production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cats. And also won Master Chef too! “It’s not a pandemic, disease or virus. Yet poor mental health kills more men each year than anything else. I’m on the panel to share but primarily to listen. Talking through your feelings gives you space to workout what is going on."

*All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Heads on charity and Men’s talk radio.

Utterly terrible!!! What looked like a promising venue and evening was so badly delivered we left by 10:50. We booked a table of 4 for £260 pounds. We arrived at 10:00 and we’re greeted by what I can only describe as club bouncer. Once clearing security, inside the door we were issued wrist band by the only friendly face we encountered at the venue. We were then ushered to another member of staff who pointed to an area and said pick your own table (they were all dirty and strewed with glasses or peoples belongings - think weather spoons at 10:30 on a Saturday night!!! ) The music was so loud we had to text one another at our table. Unfortunately my friend had no service and Rockwater appeared to have no Wi-Fi so I let him use my hotspot access so he could relay his drinks order to me. It took so long to get served at the bar we gave up on our plan to drink our way to a better night after 1 round. We never saw a hint of our complimentary Prosecco but at least we didn’t have to stay long enough to feel as if we should drink it. On a positive note a least Covid 19 is obviously not a problem at this venue judging by the amount of people allowed to be packed into the dance floor area (also the only access to the toilets and other areas) I can only assume that it was the bouncers attitude destroying the virus on entry to the site that kept us all safe. The DJ actually sounded very good and in a well managed venue I recon would have been fab. As I said, we left at 10:50, (the bouncer not wishing us a ‘a happy new year’) and saw members of the public setting off fire works on the beach. I thought to myself this would have been a much better spend of £260 Anyway, happy new year and see you all at soho house one day (the vibe I thought rock water would have)

What a great night we had at Rockwater NYE party. Great Djs - - roof terrace brought together a fun crowd. Drinks great . Maybe could have had some more nibbles...but apart from that really pleased we booked.
