Open since 1547, this historic Victorian boozer was once visited by the infamous Jack The Ripper; also having seen one of its landlords once burnt as a martyr. From low lying ceilings of covered in maroon furnishings, ceilings smothered in vintage regalia, a botanical garden and stocked glass shelves, The Cricketers do Sherlock chic proud. Take to their second floor Greene Room bar, dedicated to 'Brighton Rock' author Graham Greene, for more discerning style drinks thanks to its contemporary layout, fuschia fittings and prominence as a great private hire destination.

The Greene Room is not your average pub function room and is one that stands out as a venue of choice with its own unique character and charm. Spread across three interlinked rooms with a private bar offer a multitude of options for your event. Specialising in small to medium sized events – our maximum capacity is around 70 guests for standing and 45 for a seated event. Our quirky layout of the three rooms gives you the options to position your party elements such as music, food and seating to suit and choose from informal buffet or private dining and to give space for drinkers, diners and dancers alike. The venue is also a great space to be used during the day for Business Meetings due to its central location.
