New Bar Spy - The Cloak Room

Pistachio & Ice Cream Stouts And Milkshake IPAs Are Heading To Brighton

The Cloak Room

Opens

Venue Closed

This Kemptown bar showcases craft brews and street art in a cool, urban setting. Brewers and co-owners Dave Seward, Leigh Pearce and Ben Hucker have been brewing together for just over a year now, supplying local businesses with The Cloak and Dagger range before opening their own bar on St James’s Street.

Renowned for their quirky beers, the Cloak and Dagger brews on tap include Electric Mayhem with pineapple sour, Never Dug Disco Fly-PA and the BBQ stout, Beer Grills. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s the Two Scoop pistachio and chocolate ice cream stout, the milkshake IPA Mango Milk Power and the fruity Brass Monkey IPA. While there may be no food offerings quite yet, the team from pop-up kitchen Lost Boys Chicken (under the guise of Rufio’s) will be knocking up a menu of tasty treats for guests to nibble on in due course.

Nevertheless, one thing that sets the space apart is its selection of vibrant artwork lining the walls. Local artists will be showcased across the venue before having pieces auctioned off for charity. The result is a contemporary, cool atmosphere in which a guest will enjoy a unique brew or two.
