Anyone would think this chap was a bar manager, oh wait, he is! Introducing the man behind the Ginger's birthday cocktail and many more, Dan Filippi.

Now we all know that Ginger's Bar in Birmingham city centre is adjoined, and inside Purnell's Bistro, but did you know that this award winning restaurant bar was celebrating its first birthday this year? Well then, now you do!  For the last 12 months, this duo have been serving a bountiful selection of gastro delights and innovative cocktails, bringing a welcomed dash of 1920s Manhattan to our fair Birmingham. So what did we get them for their birthday? Okay, so we didn't get them anything (sorry folks!) but they in fact have brought you something, asking their bar manager Dan Filippi to put 15 years in the industry to good use by whipping up a birthday treat. 

Named the 'Rhythm and Bloom', Dan has created a fresh affair of palate friendly flavours that looks to and could possibly be a new addition to the menu; here are the ingredients:

  • 35ml Hendricks Gin
  • 20ml St Germain Elderflower Liqueur
  • 20ml fresh lemon juice
  • 10ml Belvoir Elderflower cordial
  • Stir with three tomato and cucumber purée ice cubes
