What they say:
The team behind Kongs is spreading its wings, opening a third site on Birmingham's Bennetts Hill. The group has already made a splash with their first two venues in Cardiff and Bristol, and will now look to offer the same nostalgic feeling to Birmingham's revellers. Armed with arcade games - think Miss Pacman, Street Fighter and Donkey Kong - pool tables, ping pong and an impressive craft beer collection, Kongs will hope to pull in guests from all over the city, encouraging guests to let their innner big kid shine.
What we say:
Having been haunted by King K. Rool and the Pacman ghosts in our younger years, we always love hearing about the possible opening of a new arcade bar. If their planning permission goes through, there's no reason to believe the new Birmingham spot won't reach the same lofty heights of its sister venues. The opening of vintage gaming bars is definitely a trend in Britain that shows no sign of slowing down, probably because they offer the perfect dose of nostalgia that we all need from time to time. Keep an eye out for the name, we're expect big things.
